This general is for the discussion of games containing Monster Girls, main game of discussion is Monster Girl Quest, but people are encouraged to introduce new games.
News: Monster Girl Quest Paradox 2 was released on June 23rd. Some guy called Rogue has started helping with the Paradox translation process. The first bare minimum UI patch for Part 2 is out.
Last commit was 1 month ago, presumably he is waiting for 2.20 to come out so that the update won't end messing up his patch.

I was thinking of why Kagetsumugi and La Croix are elevated to great importance in the story, despite most of their arc saved for part 3. I believe its because they represent fundamentally opposing viewpoints.
It was quite a surprise to see La Croix as the survivor of the third Tartarus world instead of someone more suited to such a technical role like Promestein. She is a necromancer, not a quantum physicist. However, La Croix's arc in the VN was about grief and coming to terms with losing the ones you love as shown with Alice's confrontation with her mother and her own relationship with Chrome; she learns to stop fighting and accept her fate. Only theme is inverted in Paradox, the world is ending and there is little you can do to stop it; yet the people in the administrative tower fought till the bitter end despite it all. Alt La Croix's last words are solemn, even proud, as she dies fighting Adramelech.
Kagetsumugi is the antithesis of that belief. When faced with the question of why serve someone who will annihilate everything, she reveals a smiling face that it doesn't matter. It's pointless to try and stop it, so why not do whatever you want? In this nihilistic crisis, Kagetsumugi asserts that the concepts that the series holds to such as love and faith are meaningless. And La Croix somewhat agrees, as she summons the Cirque Du Croix on her own sister immediately afterwards while lamenting on the hopeless state of it all.
I think in Part 3, their arc will culminate in a confrontation between the two necromancers. Through Luka's perseverance and Chrome's redeeming love, La Croix will believe the world is worth saving in spite of the bleak odds they face. Conversely, Kagetsumugi doesn't and promotes the inevitability of annihilation. With the implication of Alice's mother being revived, it can tie back to the VN's theme and show that even the impossible is worth facing if you're with family.

They're already on the same page.

This place is dead, Yet again, Maybe everyone i just in bed, We keep going "2.20 when?" How will we go ahead?

Why didn't the Admiral stop Morrigan from sinking all the boats from Iliasport? Shouldn't she have also been investigating the disappearances in Port Natalia? She puts more effort into finding Selene than she does her job.
Carson Adams
They all happened within a small timeframe and the navy is busy with a lot of things. Also finding a human sized creature that can move at mach 3+ on the ocean isn't very practical.
Owen Long
She worked for Selene when she was still a seahorse
Brayden Cooper
In Tamamo's fight with Tsukuyomi, she claims that the angels during the great monster wars tried to rebel against Ilias which was a major reason why they lost. Perhaps it is something inherent in all angels which causes them to go renegade, hence why Fallen Angel is a race of its own. It would certainly explain why the Angel World is so closely monitored for both the humans and the lowly angels.
Jaxson Williams
Tamamo has no room to talk shit when monster society is rooted in using power and force to rule. Of course you don't have much infighting during wartime when your position in society and the volume of your voice is determined based on how high your power level is.
Bentley Bennett
You're acting like having a proper societal structure and hierarchy is a bad thing.

do I do Marines or Pirates?
Parker Moore
Wet sticky coexistence
Connor Barnes
Don't you want to protect their smiles?
Mason Garcia
I do, but I don't know which side I should commit to since they both seem very fishy
Daniel Thomas
Side with the Marines. Not only it's your Goddess' wish, but also as you progress through the story they give you some stuff every now and then. Either way, once you finish the game and go for NG+ you can recruit everyone you couldn't before based on your choices.
Julian Anderson
I feel like I'm being rused

I went Pirates- more oppai per loli. I think its a bit of a bummer that Arekishi got most of the mermaids for part 2- despite being my love for oppai lolis- variety is the spice of pedophilia after all.
Landon White
The funny thing is I was considering making the same post with the same Ilias sprite. I sided with Navy with Ilias and Pirates with Alice.
Daniel Carter
This feels a lot like bullying guys Is it just like this when you side with the pirates
Adam Thomas
Miranda's little pregnant tummy!
Parker Jones
You mean to say this feels like JUSTICE!
Josiah Nelson
Yeah it is if you side with Pirates. Either way your loli bullying nets you the same ship. Can you fight Admiral if you go Navy? its one of the reasons I went Pirates (Primary being oppai lolis)

Alma Elma and Granberia were drawn by Akazawa RED in Part 2 of Paradox instead of using their original designs. Reactions have been mixed to say the least.
David Johnson
Ilias and Tamamo also received new designs but that is at least justified in a story sense as the newly designed Ilias/Tamamo are different characters in their own right, that should warrant a distinct appearance. However, this is not the case with Alma Elma and Granberia which is why its jarring to see them replaced without any warning.
Its not like frfr isn't drawing monsters for the series anymore, he drew a dozen for Part 2. It's like if they replaced the leading actor in a sequel but still kept him as a minor role.
William Butler

Nolan Edwards
What?
Henry Cooper
>online petition for japanese porn game Your autism will forever be irrelevant.
Aaron Thomas
He is in fact isn't drawing monsters for the series anymore, forcibly or not, he only drew straight humans in paradox.
Caleb Powell
Nah, what happened is that frfr was not interested in doing those two anymore, or at least updating them with extra poses and CGs, so they switched to Akazawa RED instead since using two different art styles for the same character would look bad.
Of course, that didn't stop Torotoro from doing this with Tamamo and Ilias, but in that case he can use the excuse that they're "different" characters to solve the problem. Since the other two don't have other versions in the story, he couldn't use that excuse for them.
Chase Lee
Well, he did use it for Granberia as a popup in a short flashback when you reach Iliasburg, but since it was just a flashback it wasn't important at that point. That, or Akazawa RED wasn't stll working on those two and they were forced to use frfr's version instead.
Aiden Baker
Yeah, he only drew humans like Micaela-chan, Lucifina-chan, Wing Harpy, Lorelai, Atlach-Nacha...
Ethan Edwards
Glad to hear he is back to businesses in part 2.
Nolan Walker
>Nah, what happened is that frfr was not interested in doing those two anymore, or at least updating them with extra poses and CGs, so they switched to Akazawa RED instead since using two different art styles for the same character would look bad. Source - your ass?
Nathaniel Bell
>using two different art styles for the same character would look bad. You mean how UN_DO did with Chrome and the Cirque Du Croix? What a retarded argument, frfr redrew the harpies in part 3 of the VN, why bother hiring a new artist if it’s established he can redesign his own characters.
Liam Rodriguez
That's not different art styles, that's improving your old work so it looks much better. When I mean different art styles, I mean done by two different artists. Even with the changes they did, it was easy to notice who was the artists, as they usually have their own style when doing their work.
And as I've said before, if the artist refuses to update their old work because believe it or not they can, tough luck to you, either you are stuck with what you have, or you have to ask another artist to draw. They took the second option in this case.
Josiah Nelson
Oh boy as if the nips actually care what 2 Veeky Forums autists care about 2 paintings, grow up you retards
The new paintings are great, better than the old fish heads
