I can kill him offline in like 3 minutes with perried HFB. Is it substantially worse than Blast Arrow spam? I could do that Online, but I don't think I'm willing to fuss with positioning for DG.

Blast Arrow spam is only bad if you're low on cash. The other downside is it's heavy.
I love dire gouge because I can deal damage faster than Kisses with 500 more damage on the weapon. I couldn't say anything about HFB spam because I have never played a blue vocation.

Give them a Legion's Might and you have a support buffbot with the occasional damage spell that you never have to worry about - I personally use one and I muck about with their inclanations all the time, pioneer acquisitor support mage who doesn't stop to heal is dumb but fun
