back in 2010 it would be extremelly rare to find people with hats and the hats in the game looked like they could actually be the stock class if they redesigned them to wear that.
also the game ran way better, like from 2009 to 2012 i had a shit Athlon 64 5000+ and a HD 3650 and i was getting 120 fps constant on my 120 fps cap without any issue
the rarity of all hats in general back then made them way more cool too, i think unusuals were the first step in just throwing aesthethics down the shitter for profit
