Your horse can die from fall damage and monsters, but it can be recovered in any stable, unless you will be bothering with breeding(which I advice strongly against since you are a new player) the death counter doesn't matter the slightly.

I'm a fucking dopey simpleton that doesn't understand games without power creep. I got my awakening weapon, and pushed my gear up pretty well so far.
Can someone help me with setting goals? I just plain don't understand why I should keep playing.
Example: They just added a new area to the map, it adds more grinding spots I guess? Why use those instead of other grinding spots? Is there any benefit or content I'm being locked out of right now that's worth moving towards?
It's weird, because games like Runescape make sense to me, but I just flat out don't understand the value in most BDO content.
TLDR: I need goals, and don't understand how BDO endgame works. I REALLY want to get into BDO too.

It's the exact same as Runescape, the grinding itself is the endgame. You can PvP but it's not very good in this game, though at least it's less RNG based than OSRS.

I guess my real question is more about goals, is BDO just an infinitely scaling combat game? Is the only reward for grinding mobs being able to grind more mobs? RS rewards you with unique content (quests, bosses, areas, utility, quality of life, raids, unique playstyle opportunities). What does BDO give you for your time invested?
Is the only upward progress bigger numbers? Like I said, I just need help understanding what the motive for grinding is, because my retard mind doesn't understand games without raids/dungeons.
