I think you only require 1 win and then every next game has a chance to have a chest. When you win it you have win another game and then you can roll for the next chest and so on.

I assume this because I got a chest game right after losing a normal one and winning the one before that.

When you win a game, the following game (and only it) has a chance of having a chest.
If the chest is in that game, but you lose it, the following game will be guaranteed of having another chest. This will repeat until you win and get the chest.

The first time they implemented this event, there were reports of players getting more than 8 chests. They fixed that, so only 5 per day. It's also the same event with the highest salt-rate, since you lose the chest if you fail to win
