It's good in theory but laggy and shitty in practice. If you must use a mod like that, just get Inconsequential NPCs. But I don't use either.

Have you checked the papyrus log or the skse log? if the CTD is that instant, it should be relatively easy to narrow down the problem via a logfile

Did you try verifying your game cache in steam?

Where are papyrus and skse logs stored again? I swear I'm looking in the right place but I don't see any.

Having a weird issue where going to a different worldspace from Skyrim such as the Reach or Solstheim causes some textures to load as their Low-Res LOD textures, even when I'm close. Anyone know what's up with that?

Use MO's SKSE load mechanism. You'll have to move all your SKSE plugins into your data directory, but it works.

Update: Closing the pause menu and attempting to open the inventory menu also CTDs without warning.

I doubt SKSE itself is the problem. Like I said here though man you should buy the game via a CD key. Modded Skyrim is unstable and is always going to give you a problem at some point, you can at least have a stable installation and the option to verify your cache through steam.

Delete game files
Uninstall
Install again
Check every single one of your 800+ mods

The game being pirated is not the problem here. It was stable up until a random point when I was still installing mods when these crashes suddenly appeared. But even after disabling all of them with a vanilla setup, the game is still crashing the same way.

Reinstalling will be a last resort, but yes if I'm too retarded to fix this then I'll have to do that.

It definitely does sound like the game being pirated is a problem. If you have the original files for Skyrim, you'll have to overwrite all your current files with them, and make sure that only the original files are in the root directory of the game.

If that doesn't work, then the problem lies somewhere in your documents folder, which is just as difficult to diagnose, and this is the point where verifying via Steam would come in very handy.

Also, do your crashes happen on a new file? If not, then it's just that your save is fucked

I'm trying a new save every time I launch the game by coc-ing to riverwood from the main menu and then attacking sven.
Yeah, launching the normal TESV.exe and not SKSE through MO is still causing crashes, but using the TESV.exe/skse_loader.exe without MO is not crashing, so the issue here isn't SKSE but MO it seems.
I think my documents/inis are the culprit here. Will try to delete them and see if the default ones restored fix my issues.

Not a new save but a previous save on the character you started experiencing this on. I had a similar problem and it fixed itself by doing this. I know it sounds stupid but that's Skyrim modding.
