If you have the DLC characters (ploot and peashy) then you shouldn't have any problems at all. They're pretty OP.

A good way to save yourself from grinding is to clear every monster encounter at least once when you first enter a dungeon. Neptunia is designed in such a way that this strategy gives you just enough EXP to progress through the games comfortably.
Peashy and Plutia are very overpowered. Most of the DLC characters are, though.
Toying with shares in the latter half of the game Chapter 5+ unlocks some neat secret stuff.
Life rings are the scrub's choice. Unless you're speedrunning the game like an autist, you shouldn't have problems with any regular or boss battle.
