Arthas fell by hubris. He had the option to fall back and regroup. To organize the Silver Hand and come up with a counter-offensive. Instead of pulled rank, branded Uther a traitor, and marched forward to his own doom. It's canon the Light pretty much abandoned Arthas after Stratholme.

If Arthas had pulled back, the Lich King would have no champion. Meaning he'd have been vulnerable.

Moon Guard or Wyrmrest Accord desu, check out their forums on the Blizzard website, they should have some advice for RP in the stickies, and most decent people are willing to help you out if you're stuck

MG is mostly Alliance
WrA is mostly Horde, but I know there's a dedicated Dwarf population there

Depends on your region. Moon Guard for Alliance and Wyrmrest for Horde if you're on NA, Argent Dawn sounds like the place to be for Euros.

I have 2 level capped paladins on the same server and a third paladin level 100 so I can play horde with my horde friends.

Both MG and WRA have very strong RP communities. There's ERP, obviously, but it's pretty self-contained. Anyone you find out in the world is going to be your generic D&D tier roleplayer.
