It is actually closer to 40% since the main gun mount +1 LB bonus counts as shooting twice. If you use her, you will see that occasionally her skill will activate twice in quick succession

Rather than not being colorful or bright enough, its just that KC shipgirl design concept give it a more /k/ appeal with their certain matching uniforms per shipclasses, while AL's are more /jp/ish fantasy.

Did burgers actually have the right idea when they just mounted more guns instead of torps? I thought gunboat fags were just sucking Aniki's dick, but holy shit Phoenix is stealing MVPs all the time

Burgers had utterly shit torps so they had no choice.
It's because guns are actually aimed, whereas torpedos are just launched randomly beyond the boundaries of the physical realm straight into the nevernever, without ever touching an enemy.
I wish they would add something like an optional weaker torpedo with homing qualities, so that they hit reliably on automode, and then release that in slower and faster versions with different cooldown length, so that they don't all get shot at the same time and provide a more steady stream of dps. It would help a lot to try and make gunboats less dominant. Or even some kind of simple option to customize ai behaviour, e.g. always leaving 5 seconds between torpedo triggers and stuff like that.
The fact that gunboats get a 2nd main gun shot to increase dps for the remainder of the fight, whereas torpedo boats just get an instant torpedo at the beginning which are immediately wasted by the ai is also a big issue.

Well I mean, if they had fought more in European waters it would have been the right idea since usually Europeans didn't usually use cruiser torps except to deliver the coup de grace because you have destroyers that also have torps and those are more expendable. Type 93 torpedo was the only torpedo in the world that had similar range to cruiser guns on their high speed setting. So yeah the Burgers made an actually understandable, more so when you realize that torpedoes are vulnerable to fires caused by air attacks.
