In Hollow Knight for the Trial of the Fool are there any good charm combinations?
Ive gotten to the part where the walls narrow and the floor becomes spikes and theres nothing but flying enemies. That part in particular Ive managed to get 3 or so waves in but fucking Primal Aspids and Mantis fuckers are such a pain to deal with even with Fragile Strength.

Im using Fragile Strength, Mark of Pride, Quick Focus and Grubsong.

Not only did I manage to recover that run but a Joker card took me to an Angel room on the same floor as mom's Heart which took me to the Cathedral for the first time.
Just beat Isaac without a problem and I've only ever beat Mom's Heart three times.

Yeah I got Pure Nail and all the Masks I just have an awful time not getting hit in that part, especially when trying to pogostick the enemies.

Not feasible - locking the barn means no animal tending, and locking the stockpile means no drug production. (I even have an incomplete wall there for the times Junkie goes "WAAAAHHH WANNA SNORT COCAINE!")

Anyway, I shared this more because I thought it was funny than actually looking for a solution. It isn't like I'm missing one among 20 chickens, and hey, I even named her posthumously Whitney Houston #17!

If you have the pure nail then you dont need fragile str for the charged attack to one shot the primal asspids.
Replace it with quick slash, replace mark of pride with long nail and steady body, replace grubsong with nail master glory.
Memorize the waves, watch the video, and good luck.

Thats great to know. Ive been going the whole game without using Nail Arts. Its nice that now I got an excuse to actually learn to make use of them.

Standard 5x5. This is on Chillax Rough, so it's actually easy to build and get comfy.
The tricky part is getting more colonists, for now I've been raided only by mechanoids. Maybe I need to taunt some nearby factions.

inb4 yes, the area with devilstrand and hay is all rich soil, I hand-modded the game to allow you to "craft" it with one steel and lots of work. This isn't a serious playthrough anyway, but it gave me an idea, to make it into a proper mod (gated behind research for progressive fertilization - stone > sand > gravel > normal soil > rich soil).

How do pistol characters deal with psy beetles early on? They're tanking my 7.72 hawker pistol pretty well, even with their brains exposed. I was thinking of just crafting some grenades and seeing if blowing them up will work better.

My biggest regret with that game is that you can't fix that really, really dumb misunderstanding between the Snatcher and Vanessa.

Vanessa was a crazy fucker who would have inevitably done what she did anyway.

The level was originally supposed to be a 3 way battle between Snatcher/Vanessa/Moon Guy

Also Snatcher was just a mischievous thief who stole important objects from you because he thought it was funny and the Moon Jumper was the prince. I also think the Moon Jumper was originally supposed to take your soul or do some equivalent to that based on him being a puppeteer.

Yeah, but still, the Prince seemed to get along with her pretty decently. And that last shot when he's just crying in the dungeons is really sad. Makes you want to give him a hug.

And the moonjumper was transformed into the badge seller.

Buy 7.62 AP, (Lucas should have at least a dozen for sale), load a single AP bullet, use it with Aimed Shot, then finish the job with standard ammo (or AP if you have enough to afford it, not likely).

That's what I always do with gun builds, crit with AP ammo is enough to take a good chunk of their HP. Throwing nets, bear traps, mines and grenades are all good as well. There's also one explosive barrel inside the warehouse.

Early game is the worst for pistol builds, things get easier once you have a steady supply of AP ammo. Burrowers at Camp Hathor were especially bad for me.

/indie/ is dead. Long live /indie/!

So when is rimworld getting the extended combat update? Waiting for the mod to update is hell.
