>early access
when will you guys stop falling for this meme

Who are those QTs in the OP?

Some more fire interactions and some new NPC actions

I like the speedreading thing but what's the point if the text is so slow anyway.

rate my progress.

planning on adding waifus.

Not cluttering the screen, not pausing the game. If the game can be paused there are traditional text boxes.

>want to buy a code asset off of store
>can probably write it myself
>can't figure out a nice way to write it myself though
A conundrum, what would you guys do. Waste time figuring it out or save money?

>every conversation is you sitting still waiting for the way too slow text to finish writing just in case there's something meaningful to read

honestly mate, just stop the game and have regular text that people with an IQ over 90 can read at an acceptable rate

You absolute asshole.

what's the asset? if it's some huge critical part of your project, like an entire fps project or something, you're going to have a nightmare adapting it to your needs but if it's something simple like a math library or something, go for it because you'll be able to hack it apart and use it for your own needs

depends on the complexity of the code. I've bought only one code asset so far: a day/night cycle. I didn't know where to begin and I considered it an investment into learning the engine.

I've since adapted the code to sync with the remote server, which is nice. I feel it was a good buy because it was cheap.

what kind of game is this?

it makes sense for that game

it's fine, it's something different and gives the game a nice feel
but i guess ADHDfags can't handle it

Basically I've got the basics down myself, but I need to tie it to a grid WHILE doing smooth movement. It has wall-kicks as well.
On the other hand, it does not support for Y-axis movement, and movement itself has constant velocity, which sucks and I'd like to make it look smoother.

>assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/64184
god that movement system reminds me of those lightning warrior raidy porn games. if you're making lwr4 let me know because that is some freaky and very hot rape porn.

it's $15. the question is, "does this asset contain code economically worth $15 of my time or more?" if yes, buy it.

Honestly I can't imagine any of that is very difficult to code. You just look forward a tile and lerp towards it.

Dude, that sounds like a half hour of work TOPS. Don't buy it. If it's too hard for you, keep practicing.

Monolith is a lot of fun too. Sudokube is pretty good if you're into number puzzles.

>literally the free tween asset tool does this for free

>downloaded unity assets go right into root folder

so fucking dumb that they don't import to their own special folder

>tfw these threads have been motivating me to work on my game
Thanks friendos

it's simple babby shit, you're fucking yourself over if you have to resort to buying an asset as soon as you encounter a challenge

Mainly a stealth/hack-n-slash dungeon crawler with a bunch of fun interactions every room.

how do I make a top-down skill-based game fun, do you have any good examples?

P.S. It's not a shooter

pudge hooks, mirana arrows, etc.

you can't make MOBAs fun

Help Please?

>top-down skill-based game

what does this mean?

literally use unity like every smart person fucktard.

you're literally using GIMP or LMMS instead of using FL studio and photoshop.

fucktard.

youtube.com/watch?v=h03EY02y2WE

fucking btfo

was only a matter of time

Should I use the game engine with hundreds of millions of dollars of investment and billions of dollars in game sales across AAA and indie studios or the game engine made by one guy with a Patreon lower than most 9-5 jobs?

The second one

I was thinking along the lines of propellant-based movement.
also it's in space the whole game, which means I can't use different environments to make the game interesting.

UE4 is good for 3D and Godot is good for 2D, it really depends on the kind of game you want to make.

>game engine with hundreds of millions of dollars of investment and billions of dollars in game sales across AAA
i hope you're talking about UE4 not unity
>game engine made by one guy with a Patreon lower than most 9-5 jobs
it's more than one guy and it's a much more modern and more competently designed engine than unity

Alleluia !

My guess is that he wants to do some hackerman stuff ala Undertale or DDLC.

I NEED A GAME IDEA
something small that can be done in a couple of weeks. Please no pong/snake/breakout etc I'm not a beginner, I just want a project I can complete in a short time with a small scope.

>tfw also making a stealthy, hack-slashing dungeon crawler
yours is looking good, keep it up

>space game
>2d flat plane

reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Still need a proper start and end animation/effect but changed the shot type behavior of the Afterglow high damage mode.

unity is developed by 450 engineers, godot by 1

ask yourself:

do I use windows and propietary software or do I use linux and linux software to make my games?

Theoretically, could I use a smart phone as a server to host a two players on different devices in real time?

For example you could enable wifi hotspot on the phone, have two players connect through it and have them play a game together sending data back and forth through the phone.

Purely theoretical, of course.

im gonna guess no because then why didnt pokemon go have battles like everyone wanted from it?

Puzzle League clone that has multiplayer capabilities, either in browser or client.

Sellers on the asset store are not engineers user.

OUT OUT OUT

Is this a porn game?

How much does music cost?

If I, for example, wanted to hire someone like Danny Baranowski, how much would that cost me?

Has there been a good PC release in the style of Puzzle Quest in the last few years?

Musicians are free. You'll get at least 500+ responses to any music ad you put up and most will do it "for exposure" because of how oversaturated their market is.

>being this afraid of godot
Or conversely if you're just falseflagging
>being this afraid of unity
Either way you're being a poofter

This sounds like a shitpost but I'm pretty sure it's true.

How is mac for programming making games? I use gm1.4 on windows, but this shit doesn't work on mac.

And I don't wanna buy 12 year lincences

It really is a shitpost, you will only get 400 responses.

I think there's a C# IDE for Mac, and Java will run on anything.

Using the power of Shaders(TM) I now have working palette swaps. Shame its programmer art. And took me a long damn time.

Perhaps now I can start making the game

oh fuck my webmming

Well I don't wanna make mac exclusive games. I would love to do some shit on gamemaker, but only 2 supports mac and that shit is expensive.

I don't wanna fiddle with godot, because there isn't a huge documentation and no games released on that.

Godot.

>no games released on that
You will be the first one! Think of the prestige! Not only on agdg, but world wide!
>First good Godot game
Damn, my dick gets hard just thinking about that.

This is the ideal /agdg/ game looks like. You may not like it, but this is what it looks like.

So why not just draw the colour tintable parts in greyscale and then use the material colour to change colours to anything you want?

Are OnTriggerEnter and OnTriggerStay called on the same frame?

probably not

Give Godot a chance, especially if you want to do pixel shit or have any idea how programming works.

test it and see

cos I didn't know how shaders worked and wanted to know how to do it this way. will probably re-tool it all later once I know how I want the parts designed.

I pay $40/minute

A lot more.

Thing is I need docs and shit like reddit/stackoverflow/youtube. GM is longer on the market and provides more than godot e.g.

I already have some shit on gm1.4, it´s utter bullshit yes and I don´t mind starting over, but I want something proffessional and don´t wanna end near half of the end because I did a mistake ten years ago.

I just wanna do a 2d pixel shit jump run, nothing else. Can I at least programm in javascript and not in a shit language like gml?

If you already know GM then I don't think you will have a problem learning Godot at all.

Nice moth.

I know it just a little bit.
I implemented statemachines and shit with the help of reddit.
Well maybe I will start it, because I need something that is free and works on Mac and windows. But that´s still some months away, thanks to macbooks beeing expensive as fuck.

I know some people in here were wondering about how to sell a lewd game, so I emailed some places and asked. Hopefully this helps somebody (I would have loved this info since I'm making a nsfw game):

-Humble Store/Widget told me there are no restrictions on content so long as it's legal but that they could change the policy at any time. They have well established adult games on there already so take that into account too.
-Gumroad said lewd games are fine, just don't do anything illegal. Their policy seems to mainly be against real life stuff from what I can see.

Better than I thought honestly, but the thing with Gumroad is that gamedevs don't really use it.

Itcho is fine with it I think

They are, but I was looking for places that aren't hands off with their approach to payment processors. itch.io is great if you're ok with that, but there's always a risk since both of their payment options don't allow adult content. Humble and Gumroad provide other options.

Yes. The disc had no drm and you didnt even need to leave the disc in the tray to play, and the game was spread on usenet. In fact, to this day, the most common version you can download is the Russian pirated version. Game was briefly on GoG but no more.

I found a boxed copy on ebay. I should really upload it for posterity. That and because THEY ARE CALLED DWARVES YOU RUSSIAN FAGGOTTS. DWARVES. NOT GNOMES! Did you play as a two foot tall granpa hippy riding a fox? No, no you didnt you Putins dick sucking pavement squatters. You played as a stout bearded axe swinging mound of fat covered muscle, in other words a dwarf.

I dont know why ruskys confuse dwarves and gnomes but it really grinds my gears

just use DLsite like all the gooks who make lolicon rpgs.

That's an option too but take into account the fees

Store making more money than you is not okay

all the people that buy H games use DL site retard.

literally complaining about Steam fees and then selling on itch.io.

DLsite also forces you to censor

Steam doesn't make more money than you per sale

learned some things

They all loaded the same state, but in one of the enemies card attacks different outcomes occurred, meaning that each run of combat is unique.

And that 100 accuracy looks like it means 100% accuracy. when speed is equal or just close

Changing mine to 80% accuracy for the new 5v5 battles

Will have to see about testing lower accuracy cards

What the fuck is this shit

Testing for DBZ LSW2, trying to figure out the math from the original

The card used here has a 60% accuracy, need to do a few more runs and get a better average, then see what the difference in speed between the units was.

neat

>Itcho is fine with it

Unless it has loli, then it gets removed and you get permabanned.

as it should be, calling innocent children "loli" doesn't make you any less of a fucking disgusting pedophile degenerate scum

What if they're guilty?

>Unless it has underaged children, then it gets removed and you get permabanned.
seems fair to me

Sure but 1000 year old loli aren't underage

no

Thank you, user!
