LOL.

Somebody go to hell.

...

>this goddamn image

There is no evidence at all this image has anything to do with trauma and it's 99% likely the guy is just goofing around for the camera and happens to look creepy because his eye caught the light

Always thought it seemed like he'd be a top lad.

I remember watching a video of WW1 vets having literally lost their minds and having a mental breakdown when someone showed them an uniform

found the video
it was a french hat though not an uniform

this is painful to watch...
just imagine the amount of shit you must have seen or have been into for your brain to completely break down and refuse to work properly

in WW2 the Germans used Pervitin - basically Amphetamines - to make the soldiers fight longer/better/etc.
I read somewhere that it also reduced the number of Shell Shock/PTSD-cases.

fighting with some of your senses impared and an altered brain might help but it's probably better if you're fighting a suicidal war like germany was

because the americans did the same and ended up with a lot junkie vets raising havok in their homeland once vietnam was lost

...

This one always gets me

Is shell shock real or was it just a trick to try to get sent home early?

...

...

lol you are so fucked up

...

It's just another name for PTSD.

What is the medical definition of "shell shock?"
What is it exactly? What is its name?

Oh alright. Thank

ah one of these cringey threads. don't these belong on /k/

No, because the focus isn't weapons of war.
>'lol mentally destroyed people threads are cringey XD'

These just look candid.

Supposedly only a small percentage of soldiers fired their guns, and an even smaller percentage got hits. (In WW1, I believe) could just be tv myth.

I imagine many of these young boys joined the military with a gung ho attitude and a belief that they were going to get glory for their country, only to be faced with the horrors of war.

Well, it's not history and humanities either, really.
It's a "post this specific thing associated with ww1" thread...

>it's a soldier making some exaggerated face he must be fuggin shell shoggrd :DD thread

>Sitting in the trenches with your mates
>Jimmy has a camera
>Put on a silly face for the daft cunt
>100 years later
>"Omg after seeing this photo of this horrified soldier I literally started crying"

I don't trust photos of people with supposed shell shock. So many of them look like people are trying to attach meaning to a silly face

youtu.be/k4Pd527GN48

it's quite uncomfortable looking at german eastern front photos knowing there's an overwhelming chance they were all killed

the guy in the middle in looks very distressed. Not saying its PTSD but he is obviously very upset, not to mention covered in blood.

Who cares? It's really creepy.

>In feckin' france for 4 months now
>already sick of it
>the huns haven't attacked in two days
>bored as fuck
>Ask Conolly if I have lettuce in my teef
>he snaps a photographic picture
>the rascal brought it up on every social gathering until 1940

I think that makes it a histroy topic by definition

US used amphetamine salts in WW2.

"Omg after seeing this photo of this horrified soldier I (((literally))) started shaking"

Fixed.

Child Soldiers World War 2

That's a still from the movie Die Brucke.

10/10 movie though.
