The Forces/Gens/Colors cutscenes really don't look all that bad, but just one viewing of Sonic Boom's cutscenes reminds me how much better they could be. What the hell was BRB's secret? I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of the dev time was spent rigging the models and animating the ingame cutscenes.

Modern Sonic's stages in Forces aren't even as bad as people say, but Luminous Forest truly is fucking terrible. Awesome music aside, the 3D segments are mostly straight lines of boosting with easily avoidable enemies and unlike the other stages there's no rails or anything to at least make it FEEL less montonous, on top of ending with a lame QTE. It even makes Modern's physics flaws stand out since you can boost straight off the tubes. Its saving grace is the music and the fact that there's a few hidden routes.

Sonic Adventure was decent at best.
Sonic Adventure 2 was alright for what the Adventure was going for.
Sonic Heroes was a return to roots, bringing along characters new and old - exploring a new and creative form of gameplay that hasn't been revisited since.
Shadow the Hedgehog (game) was an attempt to appease folks who claimed that Heroes was too kiddy and for SEGA to appeal to an older audience - despite it's glaring issues regarding the game's pacing, it was fairly decent and would ultimately lay as the foundation of Sonic 3D Sonic games thereafter.
Sonic '06 is self-explanatory.
Sonic Unleashed was great depending on what you're preferences were, but was the first to push the quick-time events which would ultimately lead to further automated sections during gameplay.
Colours is good but suffers from level pacing issues.
Generations was a mixed case, but performed well enough for what it was trying to accomplish.
Lost World was pretty lost in it's own world.
Sonic Boom went Boom.
Sonic Forces goes for something but ultimately comes off as poorly managed and sabotaged from the beginning.
