>What should I do with the armor/weapons I don't want/use?
Check if you can donate any at the hidden teahouse for daily/clan rewards. Otherwise preferably disassemble them. You can also sell them to Tome or donate to Danjo at the Teahouse if you need a bit of extra glory or cash. Later on you'll be keeping them for Soul Matching, but don't worry about that until you get to NG+.

>The blacksmith is expensive, should I be using it?
You don't need to. Throughout WotSamurai and WotStrong you will constantly be finding better gear and builds don't matter so much. Soul Matching is expensive and intended for late game. If you do find a weapon you really like, try reforging it's effects using spirit iron, it's the cheapest and easiest way to improve a weapon.

>Why do people keep mentioning "smithing texts"?
Bosses tend to drop pieces of their armor and weapons when you defeat them. Very rarely they will drop a smithing text which allows you to forge their armor/weapon.

>Which clan should I join? (clan unlocked through progression)
Whichever one has a bonus that you think will benefit your build the most.

hosts die a lot

How do you BTFO Raven Tengus?

I can kill them reliably but it's always such a long drawn out fight of chipping at their health. Killing enemies that aren't bosses shouldn't take this long

So what's the deal with these feathered cunts? Their moveset is pretty predictable, it's not hard to dodge every single one of their attacks, the grab is almost impossible to get caught off guard by. They do a lot of damage but so does everyone in this game. So why is every encounter with them such a nightmare? Is it just poise?

block, block, flowing shadow

they're just annoying and tedious i guess

That coupled with the fact they are one few yokais that don't have a direct weak point to shatter.

Thunderstorm
Geyser

One cast of thunderstorm at the right distance guarantees a shock proc, might take two casts of geyser for the saturated proc

Murder once confusion is applied

How to put equipment in warehouse?
I still carry that steam helmet.

item menu, press y/triangle

The new shortcuts and spells were a godsend. How did people use Onmyo before this?

if a weapon has innate element damage, and I apply a different element charm, will it do both types, or does the charm override the base?

Does anyone want to read a 25,000-word William/Nobunaga erotic fanfic that I wrote?

>twice the size of my thesis
you've got issues dude

which stance has the best dps?

...

Nah, I can just read the superior nippon fanfics.

Why does Merciless Barrage do less damage than just a regular grapple?

>the helmet is real
why is japan so Veeky Forums

yes

>Want to do Random Encounters for glory, cups and umbracite
>If I pick a specific mission I almost never get a host
>If I let rng decide I get summoned to submissions that takes 2 minutes to beat

Because it looks cool as fuck

Also I'm like 80% certain that's not true

guy can't count or something but it's not true

Are you sure? It sets them up for a Killing blow anyway

>a connection error has occurred

Because they are basicly mini hino-enma.
Poise and no weakness mean you will have to play it like a soul game, combined with grab attack, ranged attack you'll have a very static fight everytime - get in 2 hits then run away. Basicly forces you to change your usual play style.

Is confusion still a thing on lower abyss floors or it becomes completely worthless?

whats best heavy armor sets?

He is both correct and incorrect.

The actual merciless blow attack does less damage than grapple.

However, Merciless blow sets them up for a killing blow. So Merciless + Killing Blow + The free attack you get after they get up > Grapple

You gotta add it all up.

It works all up to floor 998 (the last yokai boss)

Tatenashi

tatenashi

>Finally find a game
>Host is somewhere fuck off on the map
>Try and go to him
>Lmao enemies
>About to take an elixir
>Instantly killed as I get transported to the bossroom
>Host has a waifu skin

how many pieces and what to match it with though?

>Getting hit

>literally spawned into a lightning bolt
Fuck off nigger

Host should always disable automatic cutscene skip so that the summon has time to load the boss first so this shit doesn't happen

Tatenashi goes with everything

The bonuses are all good:
2pc: firearms damage reduction is insanely good 3pc: with 30.1+ weight this is 15% damage
5pc: decent but probably too heavy without a Yasakani (-1 set piece requirements)

I did WotN main missions with 4pc Grace (WotW/WotN only) + 5pc Tate + 2pc Iga and it was fine. You can replace the Grace pieces (melee + ranged weapons) with anything

This.

I have a side arm Kat just for killing strikes, it's satisfying as fuck to see Barrage, unsheathe and then commit execution.

>my only passive firearms protection bonus is from tatenashi
>still enough to tank the everliving shit out of cannons on wotn
such a great set
where can i roll firearm protection without inheritable slots? i need those for thrown weapon damage x2

Head and chest

All stances equate to around the similar DPS (depending on Items).

Spear for example; Low Stance has the quickest moveset but relatively low damage output, while High Stance is slow as balls and has massive windows, but is good for clutch, big damage finishers on both players and bosses.

Low stance is basically chip damage, high is punishers, mid is tech only (for me at least).

Bruhs, I bought the steam version just now. I had no idea this came out.
But sadly I did it before reading the reviews. I've seen some reviews that say it is a terrible port.

Did I make a mistake fellas ? Someone please give it to me straight.

If I get a passive in one of the weapon trees do I get the bonus without the weapon equipped?

I'd love to get the +ki in 1kat, but I don't use 1kat.

The port has really great performance (it runs on a potato) but it has limited graphics options, some crashes (but not many since patching), and is locked to 16:9 without use of a 3rd party exe or changing settings in the nvidia control panel. It also has no mouse support.

If you have a controller, a decent PC, and a 16:9 monitor you're ready to go. If you don't have a 16:9 monitor I recommend googling to get the exe, or just changing the nvidia settings to force it into full screen with black bars.

Yes, get all the passive bonuses unless they say they only work on one weapon type. Axe has one that just gives you more hp for example.

It applies unless it explicitly mentions it in the stat description. Kusa has some of the best passives in this regard because all of them apply to every weapon.
It doesn’t work for mystic arts, however

Thanks guys

Time to go for the ki damage and the grapple damage in Odachi (as well as the back damage in Kusa).

I have Asus VG248qe, its aspect ratio is 16:9 I believe.
My Pc is OK'ish.
1060 6gb OC'd and 7700k at 4.6ghz 2666mhz 32gb ddr ram and game is installed on 805 evo ssd.

please respond

>Get summoned to a host whos way lower level than me
>End up almost killing everything for him
>Only 1000 glory earned
Got quality umbracite as a reward though so I guess its good.

talismans? they will override

I'm not going to feel bad about watching all the cutscenes when I summon help from now on, thanks for the info

thanks

>Read about Tatenashi a lot
>Decide to look it up
>Return of the Gourd
Bleh

What is your resolution?

And you're gonna be fine with that set up. I just hope you have a controller.

If you don't need the smithing text it can be farmed from dev revenant in Spider's Nest Castle in the upper room near the last shrine. In higher difficulties every revenant used to wear Tate, dunno how it is now

>12k word thesis

you've got issues my dude. My preamble is 2k words long

Don't Revenants only drop 150 gear? I'd have to wait until WotW or WotN to defile it and it beats the purpose of what I want it for

Is there anything more embarrassing than getting killed in front of your host? Twice at that

1080p.
Yes I have a controller.
I guess I'll be fine too.

Is odachi any good? I really wanna use it but it seems kinda shit compared to other weapons.

This exactly.

I finished WotN yesterday on PC, and almost every single co-op I get on takes me to either Samurai/Strong, where I instakill everything for the host for some measly honor and a bit of umbracite.

I wish i had one of those cheese 1 hit builds so i could just farm WotN easily :(

Yeah, you're good. Enjoy the game, user. Just make sure you choose the launcher option when you start the game so you can change graphical settings.

It's a breddy gud weapon all around. It's end-game builds are pretty complicated to assemble, though. (You gotta defile some pretty specific rare drops, like an odachi and a helmet)

>kinda shit
It's not

does the steam controller work decently for this?

Hino weakness is blue dragon. Spirit attack is a garunteed knockdown no matter what she's doing on every difficulty, even nioh.

What helmet?

Are those builds LW or non-LW?

it's got a pretty long name i can't remember. It drops exclusively in the abyss and in return of the gourd.

The odachi is a bit of a cunt as well, it's a reward from the last DLC mission in Way of the Nioh, which you then have to defile into a specific set (amaterasu if i can recall correctly). So this way you'll have an AA- scaling Odachi (which boosts your dps by quite a bit)

It's in the top 3 of best weapons, easily.
Second best LW mode in the game after kusari, too.

Odachi can be played either way. I was referring to a non-LW build, buit it's LW counterparts are just as good. Odachi's LW moveset is godlike, second only to the Kusarigamas.

>When you're a cheater and you want to pretend you're not
>But you're still too retarded to be subtle

>Julia Lindqvist
Is someone really using their real name as a steam name?

the trainers give you a shitload of glory, not much you can do about it

How do you do the reaper with kusari LW? I cant seem to do it when blocking, is there a specific input or skill I gotta use?

What would you say are the other too. I kinda hate LW builds so that's kinda irrelevant to me.
Good to know it can be viable on non-LW builds too. What's the best skill for a non-LW build? Moonlit snow?

>When you get summoned by the same guy on Sawayama castle two times and get killed like a retard both times
>Third time he dies to the boulder on the stairs
Like fucking pottery

>gesture is on start, menu on select
>dodge is on A, interact on B
>it's ok, I can change in settings
>it doesn't actually change what does what, it simply considers that button a different button
>"confirm" in menus in A, so now you have to confirm with B

what the fuck is this shit lmao

>rai odachi
>doesn't have lightning damage

>What's the best skill for a non-LW build? Moonlit snow?
Mid stance running poke is literally the safest move in the game.
Moonlit snow is devastating and can annihilate an entire crowd, especially if you manage to roll it as a star skill.
Devastating rush has a completely batshit retarded reach.

Alright, thanks. I'll probably give odachi another shot since I'm kinda sick of 2kat. Also, how does devastating rush compared to twisting spear?

>Also, how does devastating rush compared to twisting spear?
Weaker but i believe it has more reach.

>when you get summoned to the abyss and immediately get yourself killed to waste their white cups

what makes the helmet important though?

>get the guy fucking again
>he dies to the boulder again

What's the best way to farm proficiency early on? Need the 300k for the dojo mission.

Pretty sure he's talking about the horned turban kabuto you get from the shit eater in the defiled castle. It's the only time in the game you can get the bonus to attack when surrounded AAA bonus, and it's always a purple.

Oh shib, I know what I’m defiling next

can't you just take that item from the npc then defile it and reforge? he said it could only be found in abyss and return of gourd

Have it set to mid stance, LW is always mid stance.

Oh fuck, thanks.

Well, well, well. It only took me 6 runs with full Luck shit on. Good thing I can shit on Obsidian and Nobu with a single LW, the revenants before them are cancer though.

What should I reforge on the pieces?

I'm trying to follow I can replace the chest and still be under 70% weight.

Is the game supposed to be dark as shit in the starter area? I can't tell if you're supposed to explore through the dark using the lightning to light your things up.

Can I get susanoo in early abyss floors?

that a swedish name

That or a catfish pretending to be a girl using her real name
I know one and he regularly sends me chatlogs of him messing with his victims

hey I've had English Narwhal as a friendly summon before and I died like a fucking retard to the boss in the first 30 seconds of the fight

Spear Fall. You can bait out their spin and then light attack into spear fall, switch to low stance during the animation and immediately dash backwards twice when the animation finish. Rinse and repeat.

Sure, if 36 is early for you

fuck my life I just wanna hit things really hard with an axe so they die in 2-5 hits or so
can I achieve this in Way of the Wise?
