What determines how much glory you get from random encounters, anyway? I notice that the same mission can give more glory on a lower difficulty, what the fug.

It depends on your progress through the difficulties. Same as the donation rewards from clans

Enemies defeated, Shrines discovered, if you beat the boss or not.
Also you get more glory depending on the difficulty of the mission.

Cunt breezed through every enemy doing obscene amounts of damage considering its NG+ or just NG difficulty.
But he seemed to have trouble with the Saika Clan boss, one of the easier bosses who you can just kunai for free damage every few seconds.

I'm about to start the first DLC. How fucked/prepared am I? I make ample use of magic and ninjitsu, and my weapons are 1kat + spear.

You get them as drops and can soul forge them or just replace stuff if it's way better and has right rolls.

Co-op. Go to the torii gate and get summoned as a visitor for randoms, you get like 2k+ glory per session. On long sessions you can get up to like 10k glory.

It's a bit dumb how specialised effects are barely better than generic rolls like close combat damage. Like, why would you ever take yokai CCD 22% or skill damage 22% over CCD 20%

You can roll fire damage % on it and get damage to scorched on something also to speed it up.

What's a good place to farm for ethereals at wotw? Bosses hp pools seem to make game a little bit TEDIOUS with lv.200 +15 weapons. Wotd didn't feel like much of a challenge and now this.

Ethereals don't really give that much more damage, they're more about the special effects you can only roll only on them

I would suggest doing Request for Ginchiyo or cheesing Muneshiggy for gear. Don't worry that much about getting ethereals yet, they're not needed for progressing

Book of reincarnation resets your level and refunds all the Amrita you spent on levelling along with any points you obtained by locks of hair. Koan Manuals reset your prestige points

The tooltip says that it improves the damage proportionate to your ninjutsu mastery. Why the fuck make it a separate stat and not just lump it together with ninjutsu power? What is the mechanical difference here?

I'm in a full set of level appropriate tatenashi +25 in the second region and I feel like I'm struggling to keep my gear up to date.

The difference is that it scales with your total ninjutsu power. It's kind of a useless set bonus though, you can get ninjutsu damage bonus on your ranged weapon and it applies globally.

I don't know how high it can go, but I recall someone in the previous thread saying on Way of the Nioh you can get stuff as high as +100 something.

Divine gear goes to +10 in Way of the strong, +20 in Way of the Demon +25 in Way of the Wise, +30 in Way of the Nioh and all the way up to like +130 in the abyss

I dunno, I played most of WotW and WotN in full Tate or 3 Tate 7 Tsukuyomi (all heavy) and it didn't feel that bad. Maybe it's different for you guys that can rush through the difficulties so you don't have that much time to actually get good. I spent a lot of time on WotW grinding ethereals and stuff

I suggest getting a Yasakani Magatama (guaranteed reward from Return of the Gourd NG+ or a random drop) and incorporating 1 piece of Iga Ninja to your build. Then just keep activating living weapon (and cancelling if you don't want to use it) to get your Quick-change Scrolls back

Gear stops being disposable around late WotD. I'm and all the gear in that picture is from Way of the Demon. I just soul matched it over and over to get the levels up. You get insane amounts of gold on WotD and above so that isn't really an issue.

You can't just keep crafting new gear on the higher difficulties because crafted gear starts at like +0 or +1 unless I'm missing something.

No. Soul matching a +1 with a +20 will make it a +2.

All my gear is crafted though. You get so much + gear from drops it's not that bad to get a set up to +25. Once you get a set that high it's best to keep it though. You can take it to the abyss later on and defile it to turn it ethereal.

basically just do main missions in ng, then kill some revenants for quick greens, run abyss till floor 5 for some + gear, then do a couple of main mission in ng+ to unlock wotd and repeat to the next difficulty

basically just using the time only for things that help you progress with your gear faster, you will get millions of amrita real fast on the side that way
