xth for 4.0 in two years

...

3rd for bump bmm price so i can ccu to

>Bridge is on the underside
??

look down and shoot down, probably for spotting ground targets for your gunners

I still remember the very original hanger that turned into the original 3. Still no idea why they got rid of mid teir one, it was gorgeous as shit. The piss haze in the pricey one was hilarious though. And climbing the ladder to get up onto the catwalk in the economy one so you could try and jump off onto your ship was dope.

...

First for offensively generic.

In space there is no real "down" so rotating to present your underside is not a big deal like in atmo.

I forgot how good SC ship commercials look.
Makes want to download the game again. But one glance at the glitchy ingame videos is enough to put me off again.

Bullying tardlets on spectrum while keeping the moral high ground is loads of fun, try it sometime.

Am I the only one who started with max creds?

...

Yeah it gave me that too but not for long, after a few login it went away. So spend them while you go them, though that is hard with how fucked the mobieglass is right now.

When will ships actually be buyable ingame? And I mean all of the flight ready ones, not just a select few.

At launch, after they scam everyone of as much money as possible and just before they cut all SC development for SC2

...

>take the redeemer off the store due to it being nowhere ready
>put it back up during a sale
What did CIG mean by this?

>accept mission
>no mission marker
>just says I should get a package from "the cook on Yela"
Okay, I like Morrowind as much as the next guy, but having to search for a specific place on a 10000km2 big moon is a bit much.

Better than "reclaim black box from somewhere inside this goddamn asteroid." At least yours is theoretically possible.

...

man its pretty. Part mini javelin, part flying battering ram

I love how when they were talking about the Javelin(?) in one of the ATV episodes they mentioned how the Redeemer didn't really fit so they made the hoplite vanguard.

What a joke, Redeemer is trash that CIG can't touch because al;l that marketing wank with TNGS.

Oh boy I can't wait for star citizen's release date , why I remember when I first invested money into that game 30 years ago

Need a new FAQ paste as that one is outdated and has a shit referral code generator

Did they ever fix the launcher to actually update the game instead of just reinstalling it each patch?

Yes, 3.0 comes with the delta patcher.

Sorry to be annoying, but does that mean if I download the patcher from the website currently it's the delta patcher? Or do I have to actually be invited to ptu

But you'll still have to redownload the game when 3.0 comes out

Ageeis Dynamics

it's not out yet. comes with patch 3.0. so if you have ptu access, you'll be using the delta patcher. otherwise you're using the old patching system till 3.0 hits

so basically don't bother until 3.0 comes out

thats what i was wondering

what's the typical ptu to live turn around time

>what's the typical ptu to live turn around time
There isn't one.

>Anvil Hawk looks amazing
>It's probably worse than my Cutlass Blue
Son of a bitch

It'll be a while longer, but it's getting there. I'd bet end of the year abouts. Its not as dire as a lot of people are saying and each patch has improved it significantly.

It really is a cool looking ship though.

I feel like the Hawk is a complimentary ship to the Cutlass Blue, rather than a replacement. That is to say: use the Blue to transport a few of your friends to board, use the Hawk to emp and distort the target to oblivion so they can't move or escape. It's foolproof.

Shit i can see that working real nice. Use the hawk to chase them down and disable them, or scout them out, then call in the big guns.

2 weeks-ish

Hawk for individual pickup, blue or Stalker for transporting once captured is how I can see it working
Hawk also far better in atmosphere and hover allows it to work on planets where other shit would have to strafe or end up wasting fuel hovering

Yeah. i can see the hawk working more like a squad car, while the cutlass is more of a swat van. depends on what you need.

youtube.com/watch?v=Vsd_XF-n_tE&feature=youtu.be&t=7m

The Cutlass isn't awful in atmosphere due to its overpowered engines, but at current fuel consumption you've got about ten minutes tops until your engines cut out from under you. The wings of the Hawk should help with its own fuel consumption, but it's still not going to be a happy camper hovering for prolonged periods.

Who /Drake/ here?

>Cutlass Blue
>Herald

Aegis fanboy here, but i do appreciate a good drake ship.

didn't they say it should be almost indefinite under the right conditions? I imagine the fuel consumption of a main engine functioning at low power vs several maneuvering at max power could make all the difference, but that's a ways in the future anyway

I even forgot my Dragonfly. Drake or bust

I love the cat and the cutlass, but had to melt them both when i saw the hammerhead. I've been waiting on a ship like that for years now. Probably unmelt them both again once i get my promotion though hah.

Indefinite was the Terrapin. I also think fuel consumption is very high at the moment and they're likely to cut back a lot. It does not take very long for even normal fighters to go from just initially taking off to crashing from lack of fuel... Like my unfortunate attempt to fly the Buccaneer down to... Daymar, I think? I forget the names.

The Hammerhead is the ship I wanted the Polaris to be.

drake is tight
cutlass red is the only medical ship in the game, so that's pretty unique
herald is cool looking, speed gives it plenty of non-listed uses, and the info based gameplay sounds like its gonna be pretty fun
dragonfly is the only worthwhile ground vehicle
still waiting for them to explain the value of the caterpillar though

>The Hammerhead is the ship I wanted the Polaris to be.
Fucking this exactly. Even the right brand. I've been waiting on a medium large aegis multicrew ship since the retaliator was just a complete disappointment.

>cutlass red is the only medical ship in the game, so that's pretty unique
Theres that misc science ship you can outfit as a flying hospital, but yeah, medical ships are not a common thing.

Has there been any word on APS and how it might work?

The reclaimer initially was said to have some, dunno if it still does, big ships are gonna need something to not be complete sitting ducks

Wonder if its going to be a warthunder situation where it just blaps at the nearest hostil target

That it can totally fucking shred things up to and including Constellations makes me positively giddy. 32 size three missiles ain't nothing to fuck with either. The damn thing even has unprecedented sight lines from the turrets, which only makes me even angrier that the Retaliator doesn't even seem to try. Even the bridge has a great overview of what you're up to, especially for a ship of its size and type. The damn thing is nearly perfect.

The Caterpillar is a medium freighter that's more hardened than its contemporaries, and much more mod-able. So it should be pretty utilitarian and useful.

PDS turrets are still a thing, they'll auto target missiles and shit coming in but they didnt say anything about tracking hostiles i dont think. Though there is a server blade planned that you can pop in to turn regular turrets into auto turrets that should target hostiles.

aps?

Active protection system, wasn't sure what the correct term was for star citizen

Those guns, man. Its got more firepower in a single turret than most ships under constellation size cary total. Its gonna be perfect for area denial and escort work, and should be an absolute monster vs fighters if you've got a real crew or some decent auto turret upgrades. Its just everything I wanted and more. It's even got a small cargo bay. Havent been so hyped for a ship since the reclaimer, and i've got that one too.

youtu.be/Vsd_XF-n_tE?t=7m8s
This looks fun

It really is. It's a fun kind of frustrating trying to counter the wind resistance and terrible aerodynamics of your flying space brick.

It's currently slated to have less cargo capacity than a Cutlass, but whatever you put in there it'll take a Polaris to get out. So who really wins that engagement? God damn it I really wanted to keep that 600i, but the Hammerhead just calls to me on a fundamental level.

Less than a cutlass, but whatever, it more than makes up for it everywhere else. I'm not saying you're gonna use it as a mass transport, but maybe a high security transport for valuable goods, or even just having a space to pop a rover or two makes it a great asset to have.

If I wanted to get started on making a ship mod for star citizen, what tools should I be using that integration is as easy as possible by the time it's actually possible to integrate?

That suspended seat design reminds me a lot of the Carrack concept art. Not sure how I feel about that, seems a bit of a strange choice for a gunship. I like the underslung cockpit though, we could use more unconventional cockpit placement.

how2run 3.0 in offline mode

endeavor but that thing is both overkill and SOOOOO far away from being in the game, much less with its modules implemented. I mean, if you are in some massive org war I could see it being useful but day-to-day it just isn't a viable medical ship as far as I can figure
for that matter, no ship that has "modules" has ever been implemented yet, sorta telling

Yeah, "space for a rover" is their stated reason for making sure the Hammerhead has cargo space. As far as ground operations go, having a Hammerhead hover overhead while you drop a tank to deal with ground targets isn't a bad setup. Just got to make sure none of the bastards have pic related waiting to make mince of your stabilizing thrusters.

I used "explain" but perhaps "demonstrate" would have been better
They say its a freighter but then its cargo capacity is shit relative to its volume/mass
They say its heavily armed but its got shit firepower (maybe with the new turrent revamp this will be better)
They say its modable but they haven't shown a lick of that reflected in its actual implementation
I guess I'm just saying that it might be cool in concept, but how it is in game currently reflects rather poorly on that

lemme guess, this shit is on the sc reddit and you just had run over here to share
fuck off and stay there

Well, I don't see anyone from here posting shit

they said it could just barely fit a rover so I wouldn't expect to be able to fit much else besides that
also, its a cargo lift so you won't be able to drop anything and will have to actually land to get it out, I would think

>fuck off and stay there

You think they'll actually add heavy ground vehicles like tanks and artillery?
If they manage to make infantry combat fun, I don't see why ground combat with vehicles wouldn't work.

I keep seeing Terrapin "whitebox" references but it looks nearly complete.

Same goes for the Hammerhead judging from the little commercial thing they had.

Whats the current best place to see ship status and target release patch?

CIG priority is driven purely by $$$ so you can bet there will be heavy ground vehicles and ships to carry them on sale sometime in the near future.

Shit, even with one of those you'd probably have trouble doing any damage with all the guns manned. And that's what, a size 3 missile? at best? I'm sure it can handle a few hits from those.

If it happens at all, which isn't unlikely imo, it won't be before the space part is finished and playable.
My guess/hope would be that it's an expansion after launch.

>it won't be before the space part is finished and playable.
Yeah, just like base building was something "they might think about as something after the game is finished", and yet the Pioneer is in development.

I'd love to see a hover tank, or the much talked about power armor suits or something. Maybe even a semi mobile turret for base defence or something. Like, park it somewhere, deploy the guns, anchor it in place, then pack it up and move it when you're done.

Shitty ground vehicles are easy to make and rake in cash... over the last 6 months they created like 3 bikes and a buggy.

The problem with ground combat with heavy vehicles I see is, what's the point?
What would be worth a potential loss of a fuckton of money in ships, vehicles and other ordnance by attacking a fortified land position?

When they add stuff like tanks, won't they also have to add AIR superiority fighters that outperform spaceships in atmosphere but cannot go to space?

I hope so, if only because my dream ship is the space version of an amphibious assault ship. Give it the ability to launch drop pods too and I’ll cum so hard it hits the ceiling. I just want a ship for marines, basically.

Aerodynamic ships are already designed to fill that role.

Yes but they're not optimized for atmospheric dogfights

I don't know about that. I'd assume most of the ships built with aerodynamics taken into consideration would perform just fine in atmo, after all there's no point in aerodynamics in space other than to look cool, so there must be a reason, right? Or am I assuming too much on CIG's part...

They'd have to basically kill ship performance in atmosphere to make planes competitive. That would never happen.

That's always been the stated reason for aerodynamic spaceships.

If a ship looks like a plane, you'd think they thought far enough ahead to make it actually work like a semi competent plane. Simply making say, the Gladius fly worse than some "dedicated amo fighter" because it can go to space would be silly.

I don't see why they'd need to nerf spaceships when they can just make planes faster and more manoeuvrable. A air superiority fighter would be a deterrent for using space fighters but wouldn't be able to do much against orbital bombardment and bigger space ships going low.

Yeah, see, that's what I thought. If it looks like a plane, we should be safe to assume it'll fly like one. And you'd also expect a flying brick to fly like a brick, which currently they more or less do.

upgraded my ghost for a reclaimer and spent many moneys on it. how dumb am i? and is the reclaimer pretty good?

Why do you guys think so many of the ships looks like planes in the first place? For atmospheric flight.

The gladius looks like it could fly fine in atmosphere, yes but it doesn't look like it could win in a dogfight against a plane that's made to fly in atmosphere.

Because to have a ship in atmosphere be faster and more maneuverable, it would have to have a better engine. And if it has a better engine, that implies it would be able to go to space.

>I don't see why they'd need to nerf spaceships when they can just make planes faster and more manoeuvrable.
We already have ships that can push mach 4 and are ridiculously maneuverable.

They can't make airplanes viable without either nerfing space ships or giving the airplanes ridiculous stats.

We have some JPEGs and a Youtube video of it looking pretty while sitting and doing nothing. It will probably be good at salvage, whatever that ends up meaning when CIG decides to start implementing gameplay.

Apparently im a wave 2 goyim even though i havent touched the game in a couple of years.

Does this give me access to 3.0 or not?

You made a good call. Reclaimer is basically guaranteed to be awesome. You might have to wait till 3.1, but it's gonna be dope.

Why not?

Have you tried actually reading the email they sent you, peabrain?

Which Saitek stick/HOTAS do you have? Pavlov VR is fun, by the way. Still having a good time with ED? Tell me how it goes. Maybe we can be space buddies and do space things together.
