He literally shows up because Superman dies after being that earth's 9/11 though that was retconned by WB and Whedon resurrecting him halfway into the movie and adding him to the ending fight and is a look at how hopeless the situation was without Superman. He is definitely knows about it AND how it's done and here's just a piece of the evidence.

The first part of the image occurs if you only have file9 and undertale.ini but not file0. The requirements are no SAVE file from using a SAVE point, not having a Snowman Piece, have eaten food items, and changed your armor. So you can only have an autosave if you want to see it after defeating Asgore.

The conversation after the Gauntlet of Deadly Terror is changed to this on every subsequent RESET if you've killed Papyrus even once only changing back to normal after a True RESET.

Only Sans' basement is immune to both types of RESETs.

Point is, if it's not a True RESET, he definitely remembers it.

Pretentious, to me, means "pretends to have more substance than it actually has". IE pretends to be "smarter" than it is.
