I knew I wasn't mad I wonder if something to do with the events have caused it to flip out, cause I had a companion in one scene from a random event, then never in any normal scene or event since

In the country, I figured it did but wasn't sure, but even then I haven't seen any more companions in those events And by in the country I mean a random event pop up on the map screen It's not too bad, but it can be a ball ache not having a bodyguard sometimes

Also looking at it I can't see the options to enable/disable bodyguards, it exists in gekonew doesn't it?
