I don't discriminate against people on the basis of them having the devil gene. I discriminate against them on the basis of being complete and absolute unlikeable bellends, which, admittedly, have a very large overlap with devil gene havers.

Asgore hasn't been that hated for around a year now, for whatever reason he got a lot of popularity around 2016 and public opinion of him sort of reversed. Not sure if it was because the Q&A showed him in some cute moments or if it was due to fanworks like Chara but there you go.
