If Silver is gonna be a slower runner, I think his jump should be slightly higher and more floaty to compensate. so he's more of a platforming character first rather than speed. I dunno if that works or not, but that was my thoughts

StoryAnon here. Almost perfect timing! What is on your mind? Haven’t posted much since the last slew of user input (VERY good input I must say, can’t wait to use it), since I am busy re-writing my bible into Scrivener since I got it cheap for Black Friday. Learning how to use it now, but should help in making the drafting process soooooo much smoother. This will be in a way like writing Sonic, Sonic Universe, and a 3rd thing at once, all trying together! Eternally grateful to the user who brought up “The Baron” and the one that had some tips on Shard.

Yep. That's the idea.
That was my thought as well.
Good to see that folks are hyped. The thing with these characters is that they all have the potential to go just as fast as Sonic. See, there are two values that dictate a character's speed: Their "Run Speed" and their "Top Speed." Run Speed dictates how fast they can move when they get up to speed on flat ground. Top Speed dictates how fast the character can move period.
The trick here is that all characters will be capable of reaching the Top Speed of 343 m/s (the speed of sound), so Silver and Amy will be just as fast as Sonic during speed sections, but be slower during more traditional platforming sections.
I'm afraid Tails is not slated to join this project at this time. Tails' model being mapped to Sonic's rig just doesn't look right. In addition, the scope of this project is to make a SONIC character controller that captures /sthg/'s ideals of how Sonic should move, sound and feel. These other characters with minor physics changes are a BONUS feature and are not a major selling point of the project. All of these extra characters were selected because they fit Sonic's skeleton well enough and I feel that I can get away with making them feel more, or less like Sonic without it being a complete betrayal of their character.

The baron will be back. Relationship to Bunnie may be different of course, new 252 and everything. Without spilling plans, I think it might benefit the story for there to be more conflict than what they had with thier tiff with the Sandblasters. Looking into what family really is, kind of like the last Sonic Universe Arc with Razor the Shark.

Pokémon honestly did just as shitty a job with it though. Much like Sonic, the only good part of it was the music.

Well it is going to be what draws me to it. I bought Forces fully aware of how much it was going to suck just because I want to play as Shadow. Once he has been added to this I am going to start paying a lot more attention too.

Whatever works, I guess! I'll do my best to make them fun while still remaining true to the core mechanics.

Well, Tassel Boy is no longer IN a locker. Last time we saw him, he was shipped by Maw to Red Outback Zone’s lab in Tralius to test out a new roboticizer. Wouldn’t you like to know what results were yielded from those tests?
Clove could be the cost, while at the same time,destroying family bonds. It’s possible to do both.
Like 2 or so weeks ago, I posted a concept that was actually well received. It happens after Archie’s New 252’s Shattered World Crisis and after the events of Sonic forces. Eggman is not in this. Is he dead? Is he in Null Space? Nobody knows. But a new threat is lurking and will rise, and our heroes must unite to neutralize that threat. Some characters that were never introduced to New 252. Here are just some of the faces in this project.

In: Cassia, Clove, Shard, Nephthys, Larry Lynx, Relic, Ben, Team Dark, Moss, Thunderbolt, and of course the main freedom fighters.

Out: St. John, Mammoth Mogul, MUH ECHIDNAS

New: THE Buddy from Sonic Forces, 1-2 side buddies, New leader of Squad Jackal (name to be determined, probably through community poll), Beignet (from Sonic Mars).

Community already decided that Cassia is in critical condition, but she will recover at a great cost.

Does Sonic have to be in them? I actually don't have much with him in a group for some reason.

3. What happens to an army with no leader? Who takes charge? Who stays, and who leaves?

Keep in mind this will be an ongoing thing, and I’ll let y’all know when it starts. Also, I am no artist, so I caannot draw what these new to 252 and new characters look like. Perhaps that will be remedied in the future though. Thanks again for all the input and support.

I keep getting asked about Scourge, and while I won’t say know, I will say maybe, but not anytime soon. The story has to develop for his introduction to make any sense, I mean he IS form Moebius, and opening him up opens up the problems of other Zones, and Zonic, and at that stage, you either are rehashing everything, or rewriting things so much that you might as well make another character out of it. Sadly, that’s the problem with Scourge, and why Fiona is much more likely, and likely sooner, than Scourge can be.

You keep denying Tails because you want to have the other characters be only slightly different from Sonic... but "slightly different from Sonic" is Tails whole thing.
