So I'm stuck in SMTIV Final.

I'm doing the Neutral-Massacre route and I just got to the point where I have to kill all my friends. Any tips for this boss fight because I'm getting my ass handed to me. How do I kill Isabeau ? She outheals my attacks.

Just focus fire on that monkey and kill her,don't forget to use luster candy buffs are a necessity and thrown in a fews debuffs in it while you're at it

The problem with IVA is that instead of relying on strategy most of the later bosses are just straight up stat checks. Elements quickly very become irrelevant since everything either spams almighty, pierces, or has no weakness, so the only real strategy is to just use buffs, spam focus/concentrate + your strongest attack, and use an AoE heal every round. There is very little gimmicks or interesting shit and after a while every boss fight becomes a carbon copy of the exact same model.

That's a shame. Mitra-Buddha was a fun fight except for the fact he was super squishy.

Just beat the boss I was stuck at in IVA. Man that fight was emotionally draining. Whatever makes Dagda happy is good by me though.

I loved it. I thought the fact that you could penetrate his weakness but at the cost of raising his stats was interesting. Especially once he makes it so you can't use dekaja on him.

This is especially true for YHVH. Either supernova oneshots you, or it doesn't. Combat should be more like EO where your party is
worn down gradually, and full-heal skills are thrown out of the window or made much, much more expensive.

Most bosses in EO are literal stat checks, Fenrir being the worst offender.

Oh, I've only played EO4 and just started EOU2, and it's been very similar so far. In EO4, your level was capped before you beat certain bosses, so you couldn't just punch through them, you were dependent on a good composition. In Apocalypse, I just smack Acid Breath and Mediarahan on some high-MP demons and tear through everything, even on apocalypse difficulty.

I don't know about that, I've only played EO and PQ.
All press turn games have shitty bosses like that though, except like DDS optional bosses and DDS2 in it's entirety.
I don't think the battle system fits SMT desu, it fit DDS really well though.

They took press turn too far in Apoc. Summoning demons should cost a whole turn, otherwise losing party members is hardly a risk unless your whole party except MC dies. And if no party members die, dekaja/dekunda + mediarahan/salvation puts the situation back at neutral, and so the combat phases become extremely repetitive.

Your equipment matters more than level in EO at least

If demon summoning cost a turn in addition to losing one full turn to dying would make the game just more rng heavy on apocalypse.
The game doesn't have real defensive mechanics in addition to smirk + the standard buffs.
Demons dying in old smt games weren't that bad either as the MC was the weakest member of your party and losing one gunshot didn't really matter (unless you were abusing nerve shot)

Switch will be fully emulatable in 2020. Don't worry.

When a new game's available on PS4 and PC, I do prefer PS4 because it's cheaper and easier, so it was never "no games machine" for me.
Switch, on the other hand... a Zelda ruined by open world western shit. A 3D Pokemon that isn't out yet. There's really nothing. I'd probably enjoy Mario, but in the end, it's just another Mario, not something I go out of my way to play.
If Atlus makes more SMT Switch exclusives (like the 3DS), I'll consider it, but probably only years after SMTV is out and the price is way down.
