don't shitpost
pls be nice

It's been a few years (How time flies) but afaik star citizen has had combat in the PU before it had the shooter module

Are valid concerns and critcism from bakers shitposting yet?

Did we finally cross the cultist event horison?

Best current price/ship ratio coming through

What PU?

Arena Commander was out before PU and before Star Marine too.

All we had before was the Hangar.

Helmet flips for days son

Doesn't the fact that the avenger is in the grey/white box phase mean the redesign is more extensive than a simple update?

was it? My bad

If fucking only.

My Aurora and hangar had textures and animations fucked up royally waaaaay after Arena Commander was even released.

Even for literally releasing a week worth of lazy work map along with a ship they did a shitty job and didn't fix it for solid couple of years.

And no, Aurora pilots still don't get a helmet.

I can see them making it bigger because the ship was really cramped and awkward, especially in the back.

Still doesn't change the fact that sc had space combat since 2012 and Hellion still doesn't.

broof btw
youtube.com/watch?v=5Y2cKSUNkVA

Did you even read anything at all?

Arena Commander was released in 2014, there was no space combat prior to that in SC, only Hangar.

And at that point they had millions of bucks under their belt.

Hellion doesn't even need to have space combat, that's not the point here. It's not even about Hellion per se.

The point here is an example of an indie space FPS with flying, newtonian physics, orbits, docking, stationbuilding, item management, mining, ship and station maintenance, zero-g and working firearms, all made in shorter time by a bunch of serbs on a much lower budget.

What's the CIG excuse?

...

tfw next year you'll be able to turn into a Hammerhead or even a polaris for 25 dollars atop of the original 325

Hellion is just going to keep getting better until it passes SC. Not having ship combat is a bummer, but it plays a decent framerate, and the devs aren't asking for anything over the game's price on steam.
People who hate on Hellion are just cultists who think other games doing well detract from SC somehow.

Ships in SC:
>avenger
>hornet
>lancer
>cutlass

Thats it folks. The rest is either niche, status overexpensive shit or caps that require orgs.

>lose argument
>samefag & call others cultists
he he xd

...

The thing I dont understand is industrial ships.
The prospector has a shoe thrower and a slingshot. Some npc faggot appears and its lost. Who the fuck will fly such?

>mah escort
Good luck getting one faggot.

>doesn't have posts marked by new IP
>what is Veeky Forums-x
It's ok to be a newfag. Everyone was new at some point.

>mobile poster
even worst

Why the fuck do you care so much that they're selling dreams?

Where do all you pro-consumer moralfags come from when it comes to SC?

They're making the fucking game. Too slowly, in my opinion, and with feature creep up the ass, but yes they are actually building an extremely ambitious game. I have absolutely no problem with selling ideas and dreams because that's what it takes to fund this kind of project.

Actually, I'm pretty sure most people who funded the game with hundreds and thousands of dollars REALIZE THIS. Things might change, at this point it's just dreams etc. If you're a balanced individual, you realize this. They don't feel exploited because it's their choice, because that's how much they want the game made.

Fuck the people who create unreasonable expectations for themselves. They fund the game, that's all that matters.

add a Hammerhead to that list because it's not part of the tool yet

How desperate are you really? Does it really piss you off to see SC losing the lead it had?

>Hawk
>Cutlass Blue
>Polaris
>Gifts to /scg/
*screams of realization*

>lose argument
>retreat into smug posting
wow pathetic

Man the harpoon lads!

What are you even talking about you turbo nigger? I literally just got home and saw Hellion getting mentioned. What the fuck has triggered you so bad? Show us on the jpeg where Hellion touched you.

AHAH! Le SW memes soh funny.

10 bux

Hellion is trying to be much less than SC is, so it's much easier and faster for them to implement their content. Olisar or Levski alone have more modelling and texturing work into them than everything in Hellion put together, and a huge amount of SC's dev time has gone into building the systems to support making and running a game of its scale.

If I were going to compare anything to SC, I think it would actually be Empyrion: Galactic Survival. Yes, that's a voxel-based game with a big focus on building, but it's also a game with numerous planets, active multiplayer with servers that support 100+ players, functional systems for trading/mining/combat/etc., expansive points of interest to explore and fight over, etc. - in other words, a lot of what SC promises, just done on a smaller and simpler scale. It's been around for about the same amount of time as SC and is a much more complete playable game at the moment.

Which one of you was this?
rockpapershotgun.com/2017/11/27/elite-dangerous-pilot-falls-for-free-ship-prank/

>around 6 people counting turrets

Only solo counts.

Still wrong. There is no 10bux here to hurt you. No goon, no smarties, just anons. What the fuck, exactly, is your fucking problem?

- Starfarer Gemini
- Endeavor master set
- Idris-P

>2 fighters 2 multirole

Superfluous

you have to go back

...

...

...

Genuinely I just want to be able to fly around and salvage derelicts and just have a comfy space ship with an interior that i can live in

Im real hype for the reclaimer but I'm genuinely a bit offput by the size, if we could get a smaller ship like the prospector to the orion that'd be rad.

>I understand, problem is non dedicated combat ships are fucking UNARMED!!! and will die to the first npc.

My patrol fleet

I for one am hoping that the next Drake ship will be a medium sized salvage vessel

Who the hell will be flying a Hull E first? You need a shitload of capital first to make tycoon trade runs lol, not to mention market knowledge.

>go back
to where? I'm too busy playing 3.0 and triggering cultists to keep up with another social place. You skin flute players are too easy. Why would I go someplace and get banned for triggering faggots like you while I play the newest shit and my pleasure autoscroll on the next screen?
It's so funny that you think that. I couldn't pull off something like that for real if I tried, but thanks for the ego boost champ.

How does the hammer shark compare in scale with other corvettes?

...

post more walls of text to show how chill and un-triggered you are

Okay, can we just calm down and start thinking with an upper head for a change instead of getting a raging hardon every time a new ship concept art is shown?

I assume we are on the same side.

You want the game released, I want the game relased.
You want frequent updates, I want frequent updates.
You don't want it turning into P2W paywall shitfest, and so do I.

Can we agree on that?

If that is the case, stop buying ships. We are past the "supporting crowdfunding project" at this point.

Look at other indie devs and how much they can accomplish in proportion to their team size, funding and timetables.

As long as ship money keeps flowing into the project there is no reason for CR to release the game.

If he is in it for money, he won't kill such a cash cow. If he is in it for the idea of making the hugest, bestest game ever, then we can clearly see he will simply add more and more potential ideas into it like a kid with a blank cheque in a candy store. Either way - perpetual development.

I for one didnt invest shit, wont invest shit, dont care and if the game is completed I might buy it.
Im a very edgy radical person. Totally cocoa puffs!

no u

Why keep posting this?

As big as a house!

Most people including myself just bought the basic starter package and that's it.

The hammerhead has 4 x S4 sized guns on each turrets and there's 6 turrets in total is 24 gun where at least 20 of the guns will be able to fire on the same target unless said target is 'close enough' but even then there would still be 8 guns able to shoot at a target right up your ass.. more or less
in addition it has 32(?) S3 missiles that it can spit out because why stop at 24 S4 guns
Finally it has better armor/shielding(?) than something like a Polaris but then again a Polaris has the same shields as the caterpillar as of this moment and it's not exactly like they've said the Polaris is super beefy either
However with all that said that's all the hammerhead does, it shoots at shit where as the Polaris can provide hangar support for 1-2 fighters and/or support/scout units like the Terrapin etc. + the fact that the Polaris has the 28 S10 torpedoes which it fires 4 at a time in one big 'salvo'
Ultimately the difference between the Hammerhead and the Polaris is that the Hammerhead is a tank that blow shit outta the sky around it and the Polaris is a strike craft with a hangar ham-fisted up it's ass
Although the two go together well, one sits and take the hits whilst continuously pounding a target whilst the Polaris go back and forth between torpedo salvos
At least that's my take on it

I would hope so, which is also what I did.

But what I'm seeing is threads full of people talking about what kind of ship they bought lately, and I don't even lurk here often.

'Threadly' reminder that Half Life 3 will have its commercial release before Star Citizen is announced

>bought his way into 3.0
>triggering cultists

This does not compute.

>bought his way into 3.0
This is the best day I have had on this board. Wrong sweetie. I've been first wave since there was a first wave.

Fair enough then, I've got no problem with that.

Out of curiosity, how?

Most subscribers are just casual viewers who aren't going to go to a star citizen general on Veeky Forums. Obviously a bunch of hyped up autists are going to spend the most money.

...

Should be said that if you're actually gonna go out of your way and spend fucking 650 on the hammerhead, you might as well bite the fucking bullet and go the extra 100 dollars as the Polaris is more versatile in general in comparison to the Hammerhead
Frankly the Hammerhead is overpriced by at least 100 dollars if not 200 when you look at what it does and then compare it to something like the Polaris
Although if you're a bit of a 'gambler' and a patient man then I'd highly suggest to grab a Caterpillar to Orion CCU as the Orion is bound to go boom in price as it's currently going to be as large if not larger than the Hull-E fully 'unfolded', mind you that you'll need to sit on said CCU like a fucking hen cause when they do increase the price on it and the CCU is in your buyback, that shit will get the increased in price too cause that's what they've done to all CCUs affected by the recent price changed regarding the BMM, Carrack, Reclaimer and Hull-C hell they've even increased the super hornet's price from 165 to 180 since last year's anniversary sale

Why?

Weird choice of meme arrows

starfarers, reclaimers, etc are far from unarmed, they arent battleships but they're not sitting ducks

'Threadly reminder that Star Citizen will have it's commercial release before Half Life 3 is announced

`fake and gay

>Out of curiosity, how?
How have I been in first wave since the start, or how have I remained in first wave and not gone evocati, or how am I an old backer and still salty?

- Luck of the draw.
- Flagged as a creator in the old forum even though I haven't made videos in years.
- The game is awesome. The jew fucking marketing is the black spot on the whole project.

...

I think "old baker" and "salty" are basically interchangable terms at this point.

Well, lucky you.

You would think CIG would throw a bone to someone who believed in them back in 2013, but nope, sucker gave em money, leave him hangin.

you clearly don't understand game development
.

To put pirate scum on notice

notice that you're going to be an easy whale target?
thanks for the heads up

>sucker gave em money, leave him hangin
I really wasn't all that mad about warbonds, ccu restrictions, or how limited unmelt tokens were. I was pissed about CIG blatantly lying about what was done and how far along things were.
CIG is quick to jump on you in chat if you get a ship stat wrong or have any opinion different from the current circle jerk, but they won't say shit while people completely blow the hype about what 3.0 actually is out of the water and set expectations way, way too high.
You're gonna get ass raped by an Aurora MR

Hey, is that a huge "I'm clearly not good or experienced at vidya so I bought myself a bunch of ships" sign over there?

Joe, load the harpoons, we're gonna be rich!

Whale Orgs will have have combat zone superiority

Hammerhead will eat that Aurora for breakfast

.t goon

Daily reminder to whales on your future fate:

Nice keylogger

Ok CRonies, i wanna hear you defend developement time being wasted on implementing "physical" air controllers into a game that has no functional gameplay mechanics besides combat at this point

How can you guys think Chris is anything but delusional at this point? All that manpower could be spend on implementing core mechanics or optimisation, but instead you get 100% useless roleplayer feature in the game

> no functional gameplay mechanics besides combat
Star Citizen currently has Trade too.

it did until the last patch that nuked all the cargo terminals and shops

A man after my own heart.

>bugs
That's beside the point.

...

Will Mustang be the Rifter of SC?

I can imagine groups of shitfit Mustangs actively hunting NPC crewed whaleships in PU.

>Mustang
>not Aurora LN

mustang might be worth it after the redesign

I figured given the Mustang's maneuverability and high-risk high-reward theme, it will fit the "I'm too fast for you to track and too cheap to bother" playstyle.

Avenger fo lyfe.

Delta used to be op

its a shame they nerfed it

Class V – Advanced Military Suit. This is a much more expensive and rarer class of suit. Think the difference between a standard fighter pilot suit and the ones worn by an SR-71 crew.

If i owned an orion right now im not sure i'd be hype for getting a fuckhuge ship at a (for star citzen) decent price, or mad that i have a fuckhuge ship now with only a friend or two to help operate

>bakers

That's the second time you've made that typo.

This triggers me.

You're starting to understand why people want to ban phone posters.

Honestly, the thought of old bakers toasting a new /scg/ bread full of salt amuses me more than it should have.

crew req hasnt really changed though, you need like 6 mans before and you still need like 6 mans, its just huger. It's an economy ship and those are designed for minimal crew, its not like a combat cap that adds 10 gunners and a pile of other combat personnel. just liek the Hull C-D-E all have basically the same crew. despite the fact that the E is ten times the size of the C and can probably haul packed up C's around as cargo.

>bread full of salt

How would that even work?

>old bakers toasting a new /scg/ bread

Baking. You bake bread.

have we gotten official confirmation anywhere that the Orion is now >300m long? cus the first impression I got was that it grew from the orignal concept size of like 100m to 180m as has been listed for a while now. Are the reference that expansion in the "shipshape" yesterday or has it grown again to 300m+
