If it's a tag game where you choose multiple characters, add 6 for every slot on your team.

Havent played T7 in a bit but I remember being able to set it to 2/3 ranks higher/lower or all. Thats retarded. Allow it to set to 2/7 max rank difference or something. No high ranked wants to play 6th Kyu asshats.

Learn how to effectively use counter switch, it's easy to fuck up but when you use it right it can save your ass.
Start to realize that Marvel's neutral is extremely projectile and spacing based. Normals really aren't a factor in marvel because just about everything is safe on block (ESPECIALLY now that you can do anything xx tag) so with the exception of things like lvl 4 Frank's chainsaw sticks or Jedah's command normals, there really aren't any distinct "pokes" or anything in marvel. The old adage has always been "put shit on the screen", which basically means just throw everything and the kitchen sink at your opponent until something hits, then confirm into a bnb.
Also, focus on team comp. There are a lot of combinations that work in this game, especially now that the stones can augment any team, but some are just better than others. You definitely want to characters that compliment each other, and a good strategy is to have a "point" character, the one you send out first and who's job it is to actually get a hit on the opponent, and then your "tag" character, who might not be good in neutral but once they get started can just put the opponent into a complete blender. Also decide if you want your stone to cover your weaknesses or play to your strengths, and learn which doors open and which doors close for your characters depending on your stone. If you can find a team in which both characters benefit from the stone in the same way, like say Ryu/Cap/power, then you'll be at a big advantage.

Most characters had their DP motions changed to down-down, which at the end of the day is really just easier for everyone.
Ryu's shoryuken, Dr. Strange's mystice sword, and Frank's new Servbot dash are still zigzag motions though.
And as far as half-cirlces go, I'm pretty sure Haggar and Thor's command grabs are still half circles
