America could have been a welfare state and used it's world dominance for the citizens people to keep them under control. Like taxing the provinces to pay for the Roman plebs. The American system could have supported taxing the finance industry to keep voting in war monger globalists so American finance could keep dominating world trade. But no, Americans have to be stupid and think globalism is bad for America. Now Russia is going to expand and we're really going to get another cold war.
