I think I realised why the Master Emerald keeps getting ignored, it's not all that it's cracked to be. Think about it.
Powering up Mecha Sonic didn't work properly, Eggman's cannon didn't stop Sonic (in his normal form), Eggman released Chaos from it rather easily and it didn't stop the ARK. It has never ever worked in anyone's favor.
