Aside from an obvious competitive standpoint, is there anything to gain from grinding S+ (1), (2), etc...?

I've been really casual about this game so far, I never modified my gears either so far, haven't even finished the solo mode yet. Just wondering what I should do now aside from ranked.
Oh and I've been buying all the different kinds of clothes so far too. I was thinking then deciding on the ones I like best to start putting the bonuses I want (although I have no idea what bonuses would be best either to be fair).
