I want to like SA2B but I have hated almost every second of my playtime so far. I liked SADX but I just find myself frustrated on pretty much every stage in SA2B. One thing that's so consistently gotten me upset is the rails and how often Sonic just refuses to grab onto them. I'm now on Final Rush and this is obviously a major problem, so I thought I'd ask Veeky Forums about it. Is there some kind of trick to landing on the rails in Adventure 2? Even when the rails are perfectly parallel sometimes it just will NOT connect when I jump from one to the other and it's taking my strength not to ragequit. If there's something I'm missing about the controls here I feel I should ask about it now before I start Shadow's story, that way I have a better chance of enjoying at least the second half of the game. Is there more than just holding the direction toward the other rail and pressing A to stick on a rail?
This is not a bait post and I don't plan to get into a discussion about why I haven't enjoyed SA2 for the sake of not shitting up a general I almost never visit.

Based off of what I've heard, the GC versions of the Adventure games are pretty damn bad. I'd suggest giving the original version a try (maybe from an emulator) & see if you'd like it better.

Nope, that's it. The rails are complete ass in SA2 and Heroes. Shadow despite how bad the entire game is fixes this.

SA2B is actually a decent port. Which makes me question what the hell went wrong in the SADX port? I guess they just halfassed it because SA2 was better received.

SA2B was a decent port because SA2 had a worldwide same-day release. SADX sucked because Adventure's US release was 9 months and many bug fixes after the Japanese release, but it was the original Japanese version that DX was a port of, not the revised version.

Sonic Forces should have had Tails and Knuckles instead of Classic Sonic, as well as an Episode Silver along with a better written and extended Episode Shadow.

but the revised version came out in Japan later as Sonic Adventure International. Why port the inferior original? this isn't a case where the Japanese never got the less buggy version this is just a case of Sega not caring. God how do you fuck up porting this bad? the fact they never fixed it and just stuck with it for every DX port makes it worse.
