I'm surprised they haven't done something with Smite that just kills it. I know they tried it during the beta but the community managed to get them to stop. Sure the game's in a constant state of garbage balance and no real growth, but they've somehow kept that going instead of just fucking up completely like all their other games.

Seriously guys? What's the big deal? Sure there are a FEW and by few I mean VERY FEW problems with this patch. It's going to be VERY VERY expensive to get even ONE persons cards all to level 5, so what in the world would make you think that only like 2 percent of the game population is even going to pay for that? I guarantee that some people will buy some stuff, but it's literally IMPOSSIBLE to get a specific card that you want for a specific champion because it's gasp RANDOMIZED the only way to get cards for a specific champion is using champion specific chests and you can only get two PER DAY and you can't by them AND they are random meaning you could potentially go the whole time without ever leveling up a specific champions cards. It's all random so the only people that will be paying that much for cards are going to be people who want to go bankrupt. You can't get specific cards you just play the game. Most people will have their cards at level three already anyway so it's not like the cards will be trash. The only people without having cards at level 3 will be new players that will be going against new players that have THE SAME CARD LEVELS. One of the only problems is the fact that you have to "grind" by playing the game.. What's the problem with that again? And the fact that the cards will be pretty hard to grind to high levels. I watched KamiVS video after posting this and I gotta say I'm very proud of him and very disappointed in everyone else. He is SO calm and goes through it step by step and explains pros and cons. If you haven't seen it go watch it but I agree with him but another thing he said was that he spent over 700 dollars worth of crystals just to get one legendary for fernando to level three which just proves even more that this is NOT pay2win, NO ONE is going to be paying that much on this game meaning everyone is going to be grinding it out. It's not even live yet so there's hope, just chill out.

They are just ridiculously bad at problem solving. I honestly believe they're not intentionally trying to rip us off or kill the game here.
The original problem they wanted to solve was radiant chests having duplicates, which meant you spent gold to get gold. If there were no duplicates, people would get all the chest items and they couldn't pretend to be generous by giving out radiants. So they did essence.
A lot of long-time players, especially ones who pay money, already have all the cards, tons of essence and most of the other stuff from radiants. They think this means we need something new to have a sense of progression (because who plays games for gameplay?). So now they're trying to kill two birds with one stone and making duplicate cards be what we use to slowly progress.
I really believe them when they say the data shows there's players who just want the best deck, and also players who want everyone on equal footing deck-wise. So they tried to make two modes for these two groups, not realizing that these two groups play both modes. We wanted more gamemodes, but with different objectives, not different rules.
They need to all play the game and talk to real players. I don't know any players who honestly complain that they have too much gold/essence. We complain about bugs, matchmaking, etc., literally everything else.

I think the game might be too far gone before I can see my special girl in a medical costume. For shame, HiRez. For shame. You could've made the game a fun experience for everyone, but yet again you fell under your own weight and ruined everything.
