OP didn't imply that at all, he merely asked when the two populations diverged from their common ancestor and how they developed distinct phenotypes. That doesn't discount a third divergent population or a mixed population.

Also Caucasoid is a problematic term for genetics since 'Caucasoid' populations are a mix of an early branch of Eurasians called Basal Eurasians(who may have lived in the southern parts of the Middle East) and another one called West Eurasians who formed a sibling clade to East Eurasians and came from Central Asia and settled Europe.
Middle Easterners have more Basal Eurasian in them and Europeans have more West Eurasian.
