str/blt lets you run cannon/church cannon and makes all your other guns stronger if you go for 30/50

the only pro tip is to try to get as close as you can to his first phase dmg threshold and then try to do enough dmg before he tries to teleport again, sometimes you can get multiple phase cancels, beast blood pelletting and hitting spiders before dmging rom will help start the dps

you can beast blood pellet and charge up on him with your bare fist R2s while doing no damage, then switch to a strong weapon while at 100% beasthood and unload on him

I recently started looking into chalices and I'm on the second one (Phtumeru Central iirc).

What's the difference of the different version of a chalice? (root, sinister(?), fetid(?))?

The normal chalices are all fixed, and playing through them gets you root chalices, which are chalices that you can create that have a random layout each time. You can give the root chalices additional rites to increase difficulty. Rotted spawns different enemies, fetid increases the strength of existing enemies, and cursed halves your health. All of these rites also give you better chances of rarer drops, and cursed in particular makes cursed blood gems drop which have potential to be the best gems. The sinister rite allows you to be invaded by other players while in the dungeon, but can only be applied to sinister root chalices.

Default chalices have a preset layout, meaning boss, loot and room placements will always be the same.
Root chalices are randomly generated at the difficulty and setting of the chalice it's based off; a Root Cent. Pthu. would be a depth 2 random chalice set in Pthumeru, while a Root Ailing Loran would be a depth 4 random chalice set in Loran.

Offerings make chalices harder, but the more offerings you do, the more echoes enemies drop, and more importantly, it's the only way to get cursed blood gems. Cursed gems have much more powerful effects but also carry a toll, like less damage against a certain enemy type, more stamina consumption per hit, or worse.
Fetid curses make enemies hit harder, Rotten curses increase how many enemies there are, and Cursed... curses halve your health coming in.

If you want to enter a pre-generated cursed chalice, you need to have preformed the same curse you're trying to replicated before on your own chalice. The depth 5 Isz chalice is seen as the most economic one to get all 3 curses in at once.
