So what do we know about the game except for the teaser? I missed the threads.

Literally the teaser is everything we know. Anything past that (if it's an old IP, if it's a sequel to something, if it's even console-exclusive) is misinformation.

I don't know about you guys, but I really don't like BloodBourne's combat. I find it to be way too fast paced. I miss the days of using shields to block out everything. As well as using well timed, calculated rolls.

Nothing so far, but some of us expect more information tomorrow or Sunday since at PSX.

Tbh I prefer the offensive take on the combat system rather than the defensive one from DS. It feels great smack things around without backing away and also to parry with guns rather than shields. But this is all subjective and depends on the person.

DS3, from what I've seen has a better combination. But, I played DS1 for about 3 years before the more fluid combat was added in DS2, has never felt right.

Using shields has always been a shitty playstyle, you just press a button to become invincible as long as you don't run out of stamina. I really love BB's combat, you still have to time rolls well as instability frames are unforgiving.

Is there any reason for the PS4 price to be cheaper? I'm getting cucked like £5 for nothing.

Shields would be better if the camera wasn't cancerous.

I just learned that rolling costs more stamina if you "spam" it in Dark Souls 2. Is this feature in any of the other games?

Technically shields can be used in BB, they're just not good outside of very specific situations.

If you're going to buy it for X-Bone, you're fucking cucking yourself because literally nobody plays the game on X-Bone. All the activity is on PC and PS4, either wait for the Christmas Steam sale or buy yourself a Bloodborne Box.

Theme resembles Bloodborne a bit but the music make it seem like something japanese (Tenchu?) or possibly meso-southamerican like the old rumor said (same flute as Uncharted).

Elemental chip damage isn't a thing on all bosses/enemies and is nothing that can't be fixed by one quick sip a handful of attacks later. Hiding behind a shield, absorbing the hits and attacking on the recovery frames of the boss is one of the most cancerous Souls playstyles. There's 0 skill involved, and results in efficient yet boring gameplay. I cheesed my first playthrough of DaS1 with a shield, nothing could touch me. Shields should be gone like in BB or bad enough so that they are only a way out of an emergency situation like learning a move you have trouble dodging. Shields should never become a main playstyle again. Luckily From's new game seems Asian themed so I don't see many shields making it in.

Casting sucks in DaS3 unless you go full caster (and even then it sucks). Battle mage is literally only a single build that can hold one or two Attunement slots and thus only actually cast two or three times in a fight, max.

Stick to pure melee if you don't want to repeatedly stab yourself in the face.

raw longsword + buffs. magic infusions are hot garbage in 3. and then you've got 3 sword spells which probably won't out damage your bufed sword
theres no fun allowed in 3 so it's basically raw buffed weapons. even the magical boss weapons are split between faith scaling

it's better in 2 by a longshot since int/magic infusions are worth a damn.

So I just started DS for the first time, previous experience being a single playthrough of DeS (which I thought was okay) and a couple playthroughs of Bloodborne (which I love).

I've started as a Knight and feel like I've made a huge mistake. It feels so slow and the only way I'm finding success is hiding being the shield and I want to be more active and focus on dodging/parrying instead.

Is it worth restarting and picking a different class right now, or will I get lighter gear/faster weapons soon enough that it won't really matter?

If you die right after leaving the painted world, do you respawn in the painted world again?

Ds1? I think your bonfire is set to the Anor Londo one. For 3, I'm not sure, I think you respawn at the bonfire you used last but get a warp location for AoA

You go back to the last bonfire you rested at. If that was in Ariamis, you respawn back in Ariamis.

Starting classes matter very little. If you want to focus on dodging, just get 25% or less load.
