I played Enhancement from BC to WoD and I want to return to play Legion before it will be deprecated.
I always like the ready-to-go aspect of the spec because it was based on abilities that have charges or short CDs. I hate specs that have ramp-up.

Is Enhancement still like that after the conversion of Maelstrom to a resource? Or is there a spec that is now more similar to how Enhancement was?

in mop it used to give you 2x the max hp of any other raider on top of soul leech and a permanent 20% DR and give you one of the sac'd pets extra abilities and a 15% dmg bonus on all single target skills
right now it's just: you have no pet: your abilities have a chance to do aoe damage on hit (this is garbage)

I don't know this patch but with the focus on Mok'natal it used to be possible to ignore flanking in the rotation (and pet auto is too garbage to bother)

hell and before we got to that point in NH a lot of the top sv logs were unironically using animal instincts+cof+bracers and just popping aspect every 30 seconds

If you use Way of Mok, yes, if not, no you can completely ignore it in your rotation.
