So I just started playing 1v1 after playing SC/SC2 for 2 decades doing vs AI and campaign only. I have no idea what how the ladder rankings work.

I've played maybe 7 matches so far and got this. Apparently I'm Silver, not sure how good that is, but everyone I'm playing against is Platinum? I don't understand anything.

Also, for some reason I have a Platinum progress bar under my Silver ranking, which is even more confusing.

it means you're better than the league you're in. and should be promoted soon

silver is in alright start maybe just little things. but it likes what you're doing how you're spending/making units so it wants to put you higher and promote you

Just kinda got lost when it first started putting me against people that made no units, and then all of a sudden I was up against people who completely crushed me.

Been fun trying some things I see in pro matches that just never works in vs AI.

i mean i guess you have some rts experience so you know what to do a little bit? what race you play?

Just casually playing mostly Terran in SC/SC2 playing random arcade games, vs AI and letting them run into defenses, etc.

Actually, all I've done so far vs players is spam stim marine medivac drops into the main. Apparently that's good enough to get a 85% win rate, though from what I read that's supposed to even out to 50% eventually.

As for AI I mean on Elite AI they never miss a scan and almost always find the ghost/nukes instantly unless they just have zero detection.

yeah it should eventually level you out but marine medivac is really strong

Damn, that looks good I'll try it out. I usually don't even have an Ebay much less 1/1 by 5m. I'm just kinda half assed building stuff by memory from watching GSL all these years. Seems my memory isn't nearly as good as I thought from just passively watching someone else play.
