Really depends on how they build the setting. In IV you were either selling it to chucklefucks up top who had never seen anything like it in their lives, or to hunters as part of a resource scavenge in a city that had been trapped for 25 years.

So it really depends on just how dire straights everything is in V as to how they handle such things.

I really hope not. The existence of relics means that there will be an artificial macca scarcity AGAIN and grinding relics to sell for pocket change was the absolute fucking worst.
Especially when the special stores were both full of gear so obscenely overpriced that you practically needed the macca grinding DLC to afford them without spending two weeks grinding for macca per piece.

Special shops are the worst of IV. When i found them and looked at the prices, i was disgusted.

I can agree to this, i managed to save up enough to buy the chest piece of the demonica armour, but holy hell there's no way i'd want to run back and forth every hour to get some dosh back. It does seem a bit nicer on the spawn rates in Apoc but still.

That's literally what those special shops were. The fact that they were even unlockable without the macca DLC was an insult. All it did was basically hey "Hey, do you want these really cool and strong items? Well, there's a currency grinding DLC you can buy for just a couple of shekels, my dear goy!"
Sure, you can argue that the gear in the special shops are not necessary to complete the games (and they're definitely not) but the fact of the matter is that IV/Apoc had an artificial macca shortage to encourage/force people to buy the grindan DLCs.
That's about as far from okay as it gets.

pretty much, i didn't have the dlc and only managed to afford one item in that entire area, and even then that one item went from be being annihilated by Beelzebub to being able to actually stabilize against him.
