"Damsel in distress" doesn't even describe how bad she was. From the FIRST FEW EPISODES she was responsible for ruining their spaceship, getting them stranded on a desert planet, and generally being the second biggest nuisance on the team after Giru. Trunks was almost as much a cardboard prop as Goten is, but he still managed to end up the less terrible character.

While doing PQ, Vegeta and Goku appeared and instantly unleashed "Final Kamehameha" at me. I may be wrong and/or didn't noticed this before, but now there's a chance that all enemies would instantly use ultimate.

I think one of the few good things that Super did was portray Vegeta and Bulma as husband and wife.

He didn't act enough like EoZ Trunks, but he was fine enough I guess. Pan was almost 5 at the end of DBZ, then she was 9 in GT. She hadn't even reached puberty, and there was no indication her character would take a complete 180.

Not them, but I'm mad GT Trunks is a useless cardboard prop more than anything. I'd take anything resembling actual character beyond what we got, even if it was just Z Trunks but older.

Likewise, nothing wrong with GT Pan being different. Everything wrong with her character being mismanaged and ending up one of the worse parts in that show.

Conceptually, Pan has a lot going for her. Even GT Pan might have some good concepts behind her. But just about everything they could do wrong with her, they did wrong. Because they wasted any potential she had (a rampant problem in GT, see Majuub for probably the worst example), Pan was not a good character in GT.

I'm not "mixing", I'm comparing. EOZ pan is training with grandpa and as a result, she's very strong even at age 4. Fantastic. Super says she was already that strong at age 1. Wow, so much for that.

Either way, a kid can have an interest in something at age 4, and change it by age 8. GT doesn't ignore Pan's former personality, either. Pan is making a conscious effort to be less fight-happy because it is causing her to be ostracized, and she doesn't want that. That's why, even if you don't like what her character becomes, you can't say the development is bad.

What's Pan up to in Online's backstory?

Pan is the successor to the Champ, taking over after his video training program wasn't giving results and people started demanding their money back. An angry mob gathered around his home and she knocked them out easily. Bulma helps Pan develop a televised network so she can train pupils across the Earth, called the Pan Fighting Network. Her actions and the later actions of Gohan's book are what cause the revival of the Turtle and Crane schools under Krillin and Tien respectively, with Goten and Trunks starting a swordfighting school together too.

She is quite literally one of the most important fighters in all of Earth's history in Online, with her network existing for literally hundreds of years when the main game takes place.
