What really boggles my woggles is that Rune was already one of the classes that had a notable second trait
Dylan Bell
New sword leak.
Isaiah Jackson
Since RoB I've been waitin' praying for anything.
I've seen shadow become what sword always wished it could be after DE.
Now I see the synergy of traits that sword never had go to fucking runecraft
Henry Rivera
That's fake. Here are the sword leaks.
Asher Collins
Sacrifice is rebranded Discard. Skull Ring is literally a countdown amulet. Sword has a unit with healing. They're presumably broadening the classes in general.
Brandon Cox
I appreciate the fact they're trying to tamp down on powercreep, but printing cards that are worse than vanilla seems a bit weird. It's going to take a full year from the point of Chronogenesis launching for all the old cards to rotate out, so until then you're just going to have the old cards bullying new ones. And call me cynical, but I suspect that sooner than later they're going to break down and abandon this new principle when they see the results, so we're never going to get that eventual payoff.
Brody Sanders
Who?
Aaron White
Tournament mode could be the way to temporally fix that if they make formats with more limited card pools. janny* Autocorrected. I'm talking to the janitor.
Austin Carter
The only decks that can see bullying the new cards are dirt rune and midshadow. Ramp in itself is problematic as well, but if they nerf Queen, it should be bearable. They'll most likely nerf dirt rune at the end of the month, but I wonder if they will do something to midshadow. Giant Chimera is also a problem but Rune being top-tier pure cancer is a fact in shadowverse, so they will probably not change anything.
Alexander Morgan
It's too early to say that these cards are weak, everyone said that PDK was bad at first
Jaxon Diaz
Or they could nerf like 10-15 cards in preparation for Rotation.
Dylan Perry
>tfw not a dragon nigger >tfw I said PDK looked pretty good and had a lot of good things her >tfw /svg/ dragonniggers cried and moaned anyways saying she was bad can't wait until unga fags start saying that lillith is bad too.
Joshua Sullivan
Will they repack Standard + DE into Legacy Pack / Leave it as is or you have to craft them?
Joseph Russell
Since PDK happened, everyone could see that lilim was broken. As a general rule, an early game card with an insanely defensive statline and an ongoing snowbally effect will be strong. Yurius and Hedgehog are examples of this.
Noah Campbell
They won't do it but it would be nice if they lowered the cost of crafting rotated sets
Cameron Gomez
No matter how much you two deny it, Staircase enabled PDK.
Joseph Fisher
There are cards that are clones of old cards. These are mostly cards that go away in the rotation (i.e they are replacing standard cards), but I'm not convinced that just because something fulfills a role that is not exactly fulfilled in other older, more powerful sets, that that is enough to balance it being significantly weaker. I'll give two examples from dragoncraft, because I've been paying attention to them in particular. New Aiela is a straight downgrade from old Aiela. The purpose of the card is not different--it's just worse at it, using a method of ramping we already know is bad because no one runs it (Ethica). The 10 cost PP legendary is the other example: its a worse Genesis Dragon. Less attack, with the possibility to get it out slightly sooner, but "it has to be in hand for every evolve" mechanics are notoriously bad. Okay, so we can say that the cards these are clones of, where the originals are BETTER are going away, so it's all fine--but standard is not the, pardon the pun, standard-bearer of power level. It goes up from there. So you have an awkward situation where they are rotating out the weakest cards first, and replacing those cards with even weaker versions of them. It would be beyond improbable for there to not be balance issues arising from this. And I see people talking about nerfing specific cards, but I think this is missing the point. The problem I'm looking at here isn't any particular card. It's the powercreep philosophy they had in previous sets. The only 100% solution would have been to rotate everything out at once, which clearly they couldn't do. This isn't even a criticism of what they're doing in particular: I've long-wanted them to stop the brutal, yugi-oh level powercreep and dial back power, but leaving most of the sets in is going to make for a really fucked up comparison of the new cards. Its the last few sets that were the most powerful, after all, not standard.
Noah Myers
A few people have expressed sentiments before that this coming meta would be shit but the ones a few sets from now will be a lot better. We should probably be thankful they decided to build a low power tech wide set again instead of competing with the meta behind them. Some kind of shitshow was inevitable but I'm happy they're avoiding smears.
Jordan Cruz
Yeah, I'm just worried the results will be so bad early on that they won't persist through to the full year it will take for this design philosophy to pay off. They might just change their mind halfway through. I mean, Wonderland Dreams basically made them eat crow and completely reverse. The same thing could happen again.
Christopher Gomez
No, everyone could see that lilim was broken because of its overstated status with effect and that she's a blood card on top of it.
Josiah Stewart
New sword leaks.
Ryan Green
I see where you're coming from but I disagree with the fact that "standard is a weak set". While Ramp abuses Queen, Forte and Genesis are really strong cards in Dragoncraft. The new Forte and Genesis replacements are more in line with what Dragon should have because of the Ramp.
Another example is dshit. While Giant Chimera is a problematic and powerful card in itself, it's far less oppressive than Dshit since it can allow counterplay and can't be mana cheated. Rhinoceroach is another insanely powerful card in Forest, a card so powerful that it carries the craft even now.
Themis and Revelation are broken cards as well. People love to complain about what kills them, but Themis is absolutely disgusting, and it's a standard card. You can somewhat play around Revelation but with Blood Moon, you can get Rev'd anyway.
All the aggro tools that the current decks abuse are STD/DE cards. Vampy, Summon Bloodkin, Princess Vanguard, Blood Wolf, Centaur Vanguard, the list goes on.
Christian Murphy
Standard has a really good design scaffolding to fill out a lot of crucial roles for crafts, but the power level is indisputably much lower than what followed, with a few exceptions (Forte is almost better than that new 10PP, heh). That's all I meant.
Luke Watson
Daily reminder to never spoonfeed entitled fuckers.
The new sword archetype is going to be pirates. Screencap this.
Dominic Young
Those exceptions are still ruining the game right now, that's my point. Standard has like 75% garbage unplayable cards and 25% broken cards that are far above the powerlevel of any WLD/ToG card. The powerlevel of a set shouldn't be judged on the average power of a set but the best cards.
Colton Howard
I'M IN STORM NOW
Jace Price
reroll
Ryder Hill
Reroll.
Lucas Myers
SWORD'S NEW MECHANIC IS WEAPONS AND ARMOR
Cooper Kelly
it's really fucking annoying how a 1mb file makes you download a full patch over and over again but fine
Jack Ward
I hope they add a 1 PP 1/1 with storm that can summon itself from your deck if you play a pirate. I'm sure that'll make sword fun and interesting.
Nolan Wilson
You can settle for a roll with a lot of legendaries or a roll with good standalone legendaries like. Rerolling isn't a big deal in SV since it's fairly easy to build a collection. Clear your dailies, level your crafts, easy money easy life.
Logan Howard
If you find it a pain you can simply skip it. Rerolling makes the immediate start much better, but a few weeks in and the difference between a player that rerolled and a player that didn't becomes negligible.
Joseph Diaz
This. I got shit start but the 20 private match ach is enough to get you started.
Hudson Cruz
It's pretty weak. it should have the effect >and deal 2 damage to a random enemy follower if vengeance is activated for you. Can't be attacked if vengeance is activated.
David Jenkins
What if the trait of all pirate cards is that they have storm?
Easton Torres
You're not in charge in this game, Patch.
Oliver Long
That would be nice actually.
Aiden Reyes
>3 patches in shadowverse
Levi Wood
I'd actually love weapons and armor for sword, but more akin to Eternal than HS.
Nolan Hall
>I'm in Charrrrge now. >I'm in Charrrrge now. >I'm in Charrrrge now.
Also don't worry it is a dead card if you draw it :^)
James Sanders
why would you need a wife who doesn't even have a single tail?
Andrew Phillips
Hanna in the streets, Trampy in the sheets
Gavin Russell
she looks so happy!
Levi Myers
YES!
Michael Green
Remove elf
Chase Robinson
I don't even give a fuck anymore. I just want to see the Sword cards already, even if they are garbage. Sword and Forest are the only classes that have only had 3 cards revealed, but at least treehuggers got to see one of their legendaries.
Gavin Lopez
She loves it.
Benjamin Lewis
Otomeme reprint when Save board based sword pls
Jaxson Robinson
This set is going to be the final nail in Shadowverse's coffin, isn't it? The corpse has been stinking for a while now so it's for the best, anyway.
Wyatt Jones
b-baka!
Liam Perez
You've been saying that for the last 3 expansions.
Robert Rogers
discord?
Ryan Moore
I still cant get over how shit cygames is at thematic abilities. They made a multiheaded dragon just a big storm follower ala genesis.
Dylan Roberts
I'm 200 points away from Masters and I keep running into Gaurda topdecks and wallet infinite-heal Dragon.
Carter Moore
Cyclone Blade now also hits enemy leader
Leo Murphy
Half the cards in the game are cute girls. They don't need to care about themed abilities 90% of the time. Of course they'd let this pass.
Brody Edwards
And it gets closer to reality with each one.
Michael Green
>obvious twintail >no tail ungashitter, please
Nathan Bell
Please enjoy Stormverse.
David Walker
This was the easiest 5-0 of my life. It was fucking disgusting.
