the version I am trying just is completely fucked, as in none of the items work, though I think it might just be incompatible with the VR mod.
basically none of the items actually are in the mod, they all have error names and that pink/black error texture in the inventory and shit.

Im curious what was your experience with Reika's mods

We did:

And it still does not have one of the best Redpower 2 features: blocks can give power to their neighbours, so you don't need to cable everything.

Its been a while since I played minecraft. I am a total noob.

I entered to a "vainilla" server named minewind but asked me to download some stuff. I started in a snowy town. I went to the wild and looked for some wood but is was empty. I asked for help. Some guy teleports me and starts building a tower of dirt. He starts to hit me, I asked why he hitted me. He said that the towe was his property. So I attacked him because he was a cunt. He was runnunh away and fell into his death. He cried and I was banned.

Only thing I built was a grinder, powered by 4 steam engines. I was planning to switch to ethanol and combustion engines soon, but then I decided the performance loss wasn't worth it.

It's a shame because I really wanted to build a bigass reactor.

Why not make a lightweight pack based around his mods?

I cant decide what else I should add.
A big thing though is trying to keep it very lightweight and running well, since I am also using the VR mod and also since I will be playing with a couple non-VR friends as well,

I am also the person who raged earlier trying to get the fucking thing working with MultiMC,
I eventually just caved and decided to use the vanilla launcher

Y'know for all the effort you've put into this, you could have just learned to do it yourself.

I mean, I'm not putting any effort into posting about needing it really. I honestly have been fairly lazy about actually posting the commission request. I posted a few times on the MC forums, which was a mistake, and this was my first time posting on Reddit, due to my pride.

I totally COULD have learned it, but I like to weigh my endeavors, and honestly learning to MCCreator or whatever and minor minor coding wouldn't really benefit me beyond this minor aspect of the project, and I'm prone to high burnout, knowing myself pretty well.

I'm spending a lot of effort on the map and I also work more than 40 hours a week, so its a slow process for me. I never claimed to be good at this heh.

And as for the pack, I'd like to think one of the indicators of its predicted quality is that I'm doing this mostly for myself. I'll share it with the community, but I'm very personally invested in it, even if no one plays on the serb.

It doesn't matter if your pack is "lightweight" with Reika's mods. It still tanks your FPS.

I can't tell if you're trolling. His post is in response to another post in which someone says they removed Reika's mods because of the negative performance impact. The most reasonable inference is that by "lightweight" he meant a pack that used fewer resources such that the benefit of playing Reika's mods would outweigh the cost in performance.

I spent what probably adds up to hours searching for old versions of Dragonapi to see which version caused my FPS to sink into the toilet and lo and behold it was v13. Reika probably could have said "quite a few people experience performance issues after v13 so see if that's the culprit" but nope. Fuck you Reika.

Notice he also suggested someone write a coremod to patch his mod instead of actually publishing a buildable version of the source code.

How is H&C compared to AMT? ...Does its drastical changes mess up a whole lot of things? Also--and excuse my outdated experience with this subject--is there any reason to suspect that simply introducing the H&C mod's two files (the Lib jar, and the main mod jar) won't work?

I love decorative blocks like smoke blocks and whatnot. With there were more of them. E.g. electric spark effect blocks, subtle wave or particle effect blocks, etc.

How does /mcg/ handle round-robin distribution of items(i. e. one input, multiple outputs, equal distribution of input among all outputs)? Pic related is what i'm currently using. There's an elegant solution for up to 15 outputs using only vanilla hoppers, but it requires 10 iron per output and is limited to the speed of a single vanilla hopper

Agreed! I went so far as to make a command block setup that makes particles appear at invisible armor stands named the proper thing. ie: if you name the armor stand "steam" it makes steam particles. You can kind of see it here in this screenshot at the edges of pipes.

I think with a lot of instances you could take a performance hit though.

Thanks, to be fair, as you can see its a custom resource pack which accounts for lots of the beauty. You can see my endeavors to get it turned into a full fledged mod Secondly, this build was meant to be a "facade" of sorts, in that the complexity is all artificial. None of the pipes are hooked up to anything, and a lot of the pieces are used for purposes other than their actual purpose.

It was intended to be more eye candy than functional.

Functional or not, dude, that is the queen bitch of eyecandy. I almost creamed my pants due to the pipework alone.

I've checked out some steam mods. Here's hoping they're well made

Small detail: when you first place a campfire, it'll just be a ring of rocks. When you light it, you'll get hot coals/embers at the bottom. After the fuel has run out and the fire has died, you'll just be left with spent coals and ash.

Right now, campfires (and firepits) are eight times as fuel efficient as furnaces (though this will be configurable. I figure that's relatively balanced, due to the reduced functionality of campfires and firepits compared to furnaces. Right now, filling up a campfire all the way takes half a stack of sticks and will burn for 10 minutes real time. The only real use for them is light and cooking, and neither of those things need to be expensive.

I'll probably have used campfires drop ash or something, but I don't know what you'd do with it yet.

If you want an industrial pipe aesthetic, you can't go wrong with Immersive Engineering and Flaxbeard's Steampower.

Everywhere I look and see something I love, it's always Immersive Engineering or that Flaxbeard mod. I hope someone reeally takes steam power to another level eventually, though. Hopefully Flaxbeart.

I think this is one of the few of my builds that are good enough to be reposted by other people.

Don't forget to add Immersive Integration for some nice IE addons and you might also want to add Magneticraft, it's similar to IE but with an aesthethic based on modern machinery (which is also top tier) and expands itself on different things than IE which both complement each other pretty well.

They have outputs and inputs on all sides. a hopper or conveyor leading toward the block auto detects as input, and leading out of the block auto detects as output. You have to put one item into the GUI for each face to tell it that it can output that item on that face. Does that make sense?

Anyone remember that chunk loader mod that I THINK includes 1x1 and 3x3 chunkloading items and supported meme versions?

It might include other sizes too. I thought it was named something like "progressive chunk loaders" or "simple chunk loader" but neither seems to turn up what I'm looking for.
