MG put out a combo release of Amantes Amentes and Acta Est Fabula without the save file bullshit, which backers won't get.

But the game is still split in two parts. The original premise was ONE definitive edition with all the content. That's why people were waiting for the 18+ patch. Isn't that false advertising? I can't imagine what the backers must be feeling right now.

You would think it would be a nice genre to see translated, but you have to remember that gyaru have very specific prose. Keeping to that sort of prose demands keeping constant track in your head of 'does this sound like something a gal would say?' Too intelligent of a vocabulary and it is out of character, not enough contractions and it is out of character, not enough slang terms and it out of character.

So difficulty of translation, I suppose I can sympathize, even if I don't like it.

I would say the difficulty comes in maintaining the character's personality through their dialogue, rather than translating. Any old translator can completely beat around the bush and make the girl speak more normally, at the cost of losing a part of her character, but to really take the time to consider if what you're writing fits that character is what is the tough part. I feel like that sort of thing shouldn't just be left up to a translator, though. It is significantly easier when more than one person is taking the time to consider and refine a character's prose.

See for example how SP handled Ms. 'Douzo, lad' in regards to her character's prose.

Well, let's see the defining character traits:

Dominant/ Femdom.
Taller than the protagonist.
Dark skin.
Large breasts.

Age probably doesn't matter, right? Or would kouhai or senpai be a better range, considering they're students? Those are pretty spotty traits already. Especially the 'taller than protag' and 'dark skin' ones. The other two are mega-common.
