Fuckers will not stay the cunting fuck still when I zerk it. Might try slayer or another warrior. My twistshard warrior took way too damned long to kill them though, was like 7-15s per. 160 of them took ages.

I think the one thing that is pushing zerk down in the ranks is the fact that I spend a lot of time charging shit up and getting punched in the face. the game clearly intends for you to be more intelligent with positioning and shit since it marks out each attack the monster does, so winding up a cyclone or thundering strike makes me feel like a dunce.

Im coming back to the game and want to give it a decent crack this time around.
Ping is an issue as im from australia, does the new gunner class rely much on fast combo's or is there a class you would reccomend for someone with higher latency?
Also I plan on playing elin because we all know why

Using skill prediction will never make you as good as low ping players anyway, your iframes still retain the same delay and it's still not 100% bug free.
Even then it's a thousand times better and more comfortable than playing at 200+ ping.

I feel you man. I use a low fov aimbot in CS:GO as well because I don't have pro tier mouse or a 144Hz monitor, and my fps sucks too. It's just to even the odds I swear.

I played on eu for a while, didn't like the community plus I didn't have what I built up on na. Also 20 ping that I had on eu feels better than sp, so my experience is living proof that sp doesn't give you real advantage over low ping players.
I did stop playing, until I heard about sp. Now the game is fun and I get to play with my friends.

I dont know what the deal is with this proxy shit but i dont mind playing it at high ping, im aussie, everything is high ping or emu's.
What im getting at is can you lot suggest a class that is slower than the rest, warrior and high paced shit is obviously out.
im leaning towards gunner or the zerk. I dont think they look to fast at all, or is a caster the better way to go?

zerk is probably your best bet, archer is questionable because one of their main dps skills (rapid fire) becomes unusable above 100 ping and provides a buff that allows you to fire charged arrows faster
same for gunner with burst fire, though I remember there being a workaround by smashing left/right directional keys while using it

If you don't care about endgame PvE and numbers you could just play any class honestly.

I think SP is alright

Lancer is the most ping reliant class as you have to dish out most apm.
Healers are not that ping reliant but lock ons still feel bad at high ping.
I've heard slayer actually works well at high ping but their dps is quite low atm. Valks are kind of ping friendly. Zerks aren't that bad at high ping either. Sorc combo is relatively simple ever since their revamp so they might be more ping friendly than before.
Brawler is faceroll easy and a great starter class, plus their combos don't have any chains which means they can be executed at any ping really.

Just avoid warriors, archers, gunners, ninjas and lancers.

nah, lancer REALLY relies on low ping for block cancelling and other autistic things
you could also try sorc, now that they're a bit less reliant on surgical precision of a rotation

Don't think it's right for warrior or valk, you'll be missing chains constantly and finding yourself standing there doing either nothing because YOU CAN'T USE THAT SKILL RIGHT NOW or using a slowass version of the attack

It's not the only factor but it's very, very important.
Gear and skill are important as well but a skilled +7 stormcry let's say, gunner, that has 180 ping will do 40% less damage than a 20 ping gunner with the same level of skill and gear. How does a 180 ping gunner manage 90 hpm on burst fire? No way bro.
This game has insane ping tax on certain skills and other skills just break at 200+ ping (any kind of chained skill, onslaught, burst fire, rapid fire, burning heart etc).
Not to mention playing at 200 ping feels like you weigh 350 pounds.

Usually players with bad ping have to compensate with good gear, but you will never, ever be able to do as good as low ping players. If you have some proof that will show otherwise feel free to show me and I'll admit defeat, but after years of playing at various pings and with sp I simply cannot say that skilled players will do amazing dps with no matter which ping.

I'm not saying using proxy is ethical or good, I'm fully aware I can get banned for it.
But at this point I'm just enjoying the game, I'm literally not hurting anyone with it as I only use it in pve, I can't obtain anything non proxy players can't obtain (or at different speeds). I'm not hurting the economy and I'm only giving EME more money and traffic.

I'm pretty new to the game and my ping is normally around 30ms but how exactly does a proxy help? There is still the delay between you and where ever the proxy server is located, it's not like the tera servers magically moved next door to you

you can basically cheat and play like you are right next to the server with less than 5 ping

It more or less queues your skills as you press keys.
Here's an explanation from meishu's tumblr.

TERA uses some funky networking and before your skill comes out you first have to contact the server and then be contacted back or some shit. Proxy spoofs a reply from the server instantly so that no signal has to be sent from you to the server and back, which is a pretty big deal if you're an aussie.
I don't really know I'm just talking out of my ass, but it's roughly something like that. You can probably find the details if you google skill predictor or something.
