>I just started, what should I do? Do the Opportunities then find the Career Agents & run all of their missions. They give you ISK, ships, skillbooks and teach you basics. Talk to players and try to find a corp.
Past: >EVE Online: Lifeblood: updates.eveonline.com/date/2017-10-24/ >Alpha ships re-balanced.. minigames, moonmining, refineries, and more! >Foozie makes a bunch of stupid, pointless changes (don't ever remove this from the OP, because it is always true).
you can't use a guidance disruptor on something outside lock range :)))))
Vigil is already seeming like a much better hull for this.
Nicholas James
that makes no sense, lock range doesn't matter
David Brooks
Are they all braindead retarded or did they remove invulnerability upon undocking? I plan on making a Leopard trip to Jita, can 2s align + dock/undock BMs not keep me safe (assuming no smartbombs)?
Brayden Gomez
They likely didn't use dock/undock bookmarks. If you're sub-2s align and use dock/undock bookmarks you'll be fine.
Colton Gonzalez
the fuck are you going to be guidance-disrupting, the stargate you are sitting next to or the garmur thats 70km out dicking all over whatever is keeping up with it? Things that garmur is going to care about: not your shitstan.
Logan Scott
He obviously gets concorded but only loses cheap thrashers and makes good ISK out of retards like the Leopard pilot.
Parker Miller
Confirming, if you use instadocks and undocks correctly i can't get you. Smartbombs can get you on a gate, however. That's generally not super likely though since leopards warp so fast.
Ayden Adams
I recall bumping off large things mid-undock can fuck up alignment to instawarp bookmarks, though it won't break invulnerability and you can just retry. I remember Apostles were being parked on the Saranen undock.
Samuel Smith
Thanks for reassuring me. I wasn't sure because I assumed nobody was this retarded. Guess human stupidity actually is infinite huh. And yeah I know about smartbombs that's why I added the clause mentioning them.
What are the odds of me being scanned on gate in sub 2s align? Let's assume that I always land at 0 on gate. Generally impossible right? There was that one story of someone with a small ping being able to pull of a 1s lock, is it something to worry about or just meaningless anecdote?
Austin Thompson
It is possible to target and scan/scram/shoot someone before they warp off with 2s align but it requires absurdly high scan res. Generally not something you have to worry about.
Andrew Carter
Generally pretty meaningless IMO.
If you're so worried why not get in like a travel dramiel so you have like 5x the tank? You lose a few au/s but it's also sub 2-s align and the tank stops you from dying instantly to a smartbombing maller or a single thrasher if you fuck up your align.
Camden Williams
make dumb highsec pubbies haul it with full collateral instead of doing dumb shit with loads of money
Aaron Rodriguez
Alright. Thanks again.
It's between that or leopard. Tank on a dramiel makes me much easier to lock/scan, and I'm sure a toast if I get scanned early, expecting a >1b load which can easily cover suicide expenses.
There's also an option of running a blockade runner or DST. But I'm not sure how that fares in terms of gank security? I imagine it attracts more attention than a dramiel/leo.
This is also an option. I defaulted to it the last time. Might go with it again. I still need to get myself to Jita, without the cargo. So all the leo/dramiel questions are still valid.
Landon Williams
i'm talking about warp disruptors, they're kind of essential for pvp
David Bennett
You ought to make an alt character (or better yet, and alt Alpha account) to mostly just sit in Jita and conveniently do all your dealings. Contracting your shit to them and feed them money and never travel your main to Jita ever again. Rip off the bandaid and get it done. Now that Alpha exists it's free and the sooner you do it the more useful that alt can be trained to be.
Nathaniel Perry
Ever actually fought or flown a Garmur or Orthrus?
Jason Wright
>muh guidance disruptors mate what are you doing, that's not how you deal with a garmur
Mason James
yes they always get me with warp disruptor from very far away thats their whole thing
Jayden Reyes
As much as I'd love to, Accounting V is off limits to alphas and I can't afford to feed two mouths. I'm consider setting up a Jita-only character on the same account.
But has a trip to Jita, entirely free of cargo, become this much of a risk to warrant a character like that? I don't mind the hassle if it is all, just the risk.
Jose Fisher
>But has a trip to Jita, entirely free of cargo, become this much of a risk to warrant a character like that? It isn't. Just use a shuttle or something else with sub-2s align and use dock/undock bookmarks and you're fine.
Angel Kelly
This answers last of my questions. Thank you and everybody else involved.
Gabriel Adams
ECM is OP because of combinations of N+1, scrams, webs, and the speeds of those types of playstyles.
Isaiah Ramirez
Secondary-countering: the receiving ship's worth

what types of playstyles
Angel Peterson
>playstyles
Daniel Diaz
..Those where getting blobbed is an issue.
Gabriel Young
what does that mean?
Elijah Harris
>Cruisers being faster than Dessies >though still potentially rocked by an interceptor tackling them (for groups skillful enough for warping to 0; fitting webs; etc.) >multiplied by the fact that AB fits (for bunches of classes) are about as effective as pre-planning and aligning (this is negging the depth/skillfulness of those speeds as well, BTW)
A previous KM shows 105 | 124 DPS, with the obvious proximity of rockets (~10km).

newfag here, did serbs just ded or is this updating the serbs?
Mason Allen
how is he killing them without getting concorded?
Charles Murphy
Tell me fun things you can do in Eve without paying a dime (not poorfag, just greedy).
David Wright
station spinning
Ryder Russell
They should implement a market for that. Each unpacked ship has a "times spinned" counter and for every 100 trillion spins it gets a special killmark-like mark.
Oliver Garcia

Does Eve require good ping to play?
Landon Moore
Serbs got dunked by NATO
Jeremiah Jenkins
australians play it and the server is in london
Ayden Ward
not really. server updates your actions every tick (1 sec) so a bad connection still has plenty of time to respond i haven't ever had eve lag noticeably because of my ping
It supposedly taking a company of 501-1000 6-8 months for making some "player housing", with character invitations, is a ludicrous exclamation.
Camden Myers
Attention Arty vagabond.
Jaxson Lewis
imagine being so autistic that you got bamboozled into believeing that WIS could happen
Kayden Ward
100ms you won't feel a difference, more than that and you will feel it but it won't be disastrous until you get to the 300s.
Stable connection is far more important, having packet losses tends to give you bad jump loads or connection lost.
Parker Ramirez
>well, that's plausibly for the whole of these sorts of updates, walking in stations and such That's sensible, but what's still worth critiquing is that 4-6wks. for "keeping Captain's Quarters" updated is an odd statement for something that's already implemented.
It's helpful having such a feature because it's a suggestion of something beyond the spaceships (for development direction).
The percentages of characters "defaulting" to C.Q. seems odd as well. How was that an option?
Jace Gutierrez
>erpfags still butthurt
Nolan Clark
imagine being so retarded you ever thought WIS would be good
>well we could sit in the station and talk to each other and buy clothes
Jace Ortiz
Eve-o is about spaceships not gay dolls. All dev effort should be put into spaceships and adding sand to the box not dress up in fag quarters.
Benjamin Wright
Well i've gotten a job working in insurance so i guess it's time to start playing EVE again to fill the void
William Gonzalez
How much it's actually planned internally (basically, no/yes -- it's obviously been important enough for investigating) seems correlative with that other spaceship adventuring simulator.
>station games and gambling
Warm memo that one-way transactions are legal in an abundance of countries. It's analogous to a lot of the lootbox stuff going.
Seeking risks is really interesting.

I would cream if CCP let me walk around the station and go to like a spacebar with spacepoker and spaceblackjack and gamble my isk away. they could make high sec stations have like nice casinos and low sec have shitty grimy dive bars where u might just get shot

i mean you get 2 months for a $5 discount and an assortment of nik-naks for free with the price slash so it's not... not worth it but it wont give you an edge if that's what you're wondering. I'd say if you're really interested in starting to play EVE and you think you'll play for at least 2 months, go for it.

How do people enjoy this game when if you get blasted to shit (which seems to happen all the time) means you lose a ship and start from scratch? No bait, just curious cause Id get pretty annoyed
Alexander Martinez
You don't fly anything you can't afford to lose
Julian Robinson
Don't fly what you can't afford to lose
Nolan Ross
Once you learn to avoid things like gatecamps and bait you can easily get 10x as many kills as you do losses, even flying solo. As for "starting from scratch," you shouldn't be since, as and said, you shouldn't be flying anything you can't afford to replace. Have 100m? Don't fly a 90m battlecruiser, fly a 20m cruiser.
William Wright
Fair enough, concept seemed a little rough to me but frankly it does give edge to the game and makes sense.
Time to stop being a shitter and try to git gud, thanks anons
