/ddg/ - Dragon's Dogma General

Online Edition
>What is DDON?
Dragon's Dogma Online (ドラゴンズドグマ オンライン ) is a free to play multiplayer game set in the Dragon's Dogma world. Dragon's Dogma Online was developed as an online version of Dragon's Dogma; development about the same time that of Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen. The game is to be financed by a free-to-play business model with microtransactions.

Literally what I was looking for earlier today, thanks user

I just started playing this again, never realized how fun ensnare/implicate was, one of my new favorite skills

No problem. I hope more peoples play this so we can make our own clan.

When did this general die? I use to stop by here every once in a while and it looked like it was doing great, especially with the PC and then PS4/Xbone release

Also any mods for six skill warriors yet?

Last general was made on 17 December

RIP

I'll trying reposting it on /v/

This game would be a lot more fun to replay if it didn’t have the stupid mandatory ox escort mission.

All vocations are available from the start now on DDON

If we're not getting any kind of information on whether or not this is ever coming to the west or whether there'll even be another DD game ever I might as well just end up getting this and become the BR.

Registration link OP forgot to put

Is there a Veeky Forums guild for DDON?

The old one already dead. I can make another one

Dec 26/27 and still no announcement from Itsuno.

Holy shit, is /ddg/ back?

I just slapped grigori and it feels like the real game is already starting

>lvl 50
>haha this everfall shit isn't too hard
>suddenly a fucking archhydra
well fuck

Also
>do everything to get delicious brown as beloved
>get fucking julien because I inattentively took his escort quest right before starting deny salvation
FUCK

If anybody on PS4's in the mood for hiring, I'd appreciate any bestiary knowledge I could get. She's currently a level 63 sorc, middling stats, but immunity to most important debilitations.

She's slowly but surely learning to be slightly less of a spaz.

PSN Ocypete

>try to get best goat
>elysion's boytoy is still alive and in gransys

That's really your own fault, arisen.

>don't realize the hydra transport mission cancels any quests you didn't finish
>I never went to find Quina
I won't regret this later, will I?

Restart your game user. You just shot yourself.

They execute Fournival even though I did everything I could to prove him innocent and my pawns were also commenting on his innocence.
What gives?

You miss out on Quina and Selene's sidequests, and can't access the back area of the Witchwood (which also means no Arisen's Bond).

desu it's not a huge deal if you aren't a completionist and/or are planning a second playthrough.

JUST
I knew I should've restarted when I got the notification. Guess I'll have to save it for a second playthrough.

Isn't there multiple saves? The Hydra head quest isn't that far off. It's hardly 2 or 3 hours of gameplay.

There may be an element of random chance involved based on what I've heard people here say, but are you sure you didn't turn in any evidence pointing to guilty?

I get burnt out real easy when it comes to replaying missions and quests. I'd rather do the rest of the game than start over.

>multiple saves
>this game

j-julien's a good boy, he dindu nuffin!

>highest rated pawn is a scantily clad little girl

Well... that's kind of true. He has about as much impact on what ends up happening in Gransys as Indiana Jones in Raiders, and is way less important to the story.

People have said there's always an element of random chance to it, by default it leans guilty, turning in evidence to the contrary can lean it the other way but it's still not guaranteed

Archydra with pre-BBI equipment is a fun.

Death

is a bitch when your pawns figure out not to walk into the scythe swing.

How is the endgame?

It might be a good idea to group up all the anons scattered on the server, even if the game is pretty dead
I'd also like people to play with

The endgame is quite good, though like the rest of the game doesn't scale to true mastery levels—by the time you hit max level, even if you aren't making use of the best equipment, you should still have sufficient system mastery that you can make pretty quick work of nearly every encounter in the game.

On top of that, it does get a bit repetitive, as by the time the devs started working on endgame content, the budget had pretty clearly run out. Most new enemies are tougher reskins of old ones (though they ameliorate this in some cases by using old enemies that are rarely seen in the pre-Dragon game and implementing some new behaviors for some enemy types), and most new post-game environments, especially in the Everfall, are essentially copy paste jobs. The expansion content (Bitterblack Isle) is better presented, but still suffers from the same money-saving strategies.

The final major flaw with endgame content is loot availability. While it certainly doesn't come close to the horrific grind of obtaining specific loot in modern multiplayer/F2P games, farming endgame equipment can be a major chore, with very low drop chances or enforced farming, depending on which dungeon you're in.

That said, there's still a lot to love about it. Tougher enemies, a few of which can still provide some challenge up to level 200, really put a spotlight on the already excellent combat. The expansion content offers a mini-campaign that helps maintain interest even after completing the rest of the game, as well as a quasi-NG+ variant for a further challenge. Although there's no multiplayer, pimping your pawn out or helping other peoples' pawns offers some limited and ongoing form of interaction with other players.

I've just started Dragon's Dogma. Rolled a Fighter, it's been okay so far. Just got to Gran Soren.
I have the option to switch to Warrior now, but I see there's a Mystic Knight class (which I'm guessing is totally not a Paladin.)
So what would be good for a beginner?

Thanks, could you compare the amount to dark arisen?Unfortunately, the isle could only hold my attention for around 50 hours on its own on one character since it was just more or less one copy pasted dungeon. Does this game offer some variety?

Fighter is a great and technical class capable to solo all of the game without other classes augments. Warrior is limited but fun. Mystic knight is powerful and flashy

Well, I have enough discipline points and money to buy gear for Warrior and Mystic Knight, so I think I shall do that.
I'm glad none of them are a bad choice. But Warrior seems like the worst of the three? That's not a bad thing. I plan on sticking around with the pawns anyway. Got Rook, my main is a mage, and I hired a thief.

Warrior is pretty good until endgame. Good stagger resistance, good staggering, hard hitting attacks its just that in the endgame the speed picks kinda up and some thing get rather tricky as a slow class. But if you can master it, its p satisfying to use as all melee centric classes

Oh, you were talking about DDO? Sorry, I thought you meant Dark Arisen.

...

The endgame is doing extreme mission

Any sugggestion for name?
NFA?

she's a big girl

"Masterworks" might be good? Alternatively NFA is fine by me too

...

Honestly the easiest class for beginners to grasp is probably strider; high DPS, dodge roll, dagger skills have good mobility and flexibility, and you can switch to respectable ranged damage at the drop of a hat.

That said, pretty nearly every class is rewarding to play in its own way, so it comes down to what you'll enjoy.

Fighters are probably the easiest to play of the red classes: they have strong skills, are highly mobile, and are probably the second best tanks thanks to their shields and shield skills. The main trick for fighters is learning to time perfect blocks, as those will make your life much easier.

Warriors are probably the weakest overall class in the game (inb4 shitstorm), but can still hold their own outside of hard mode Bitterblack Isle. They have limited, slow skills and relatively low DPS, despite generally having the highest physical damage weapons in the game, so timing, positioning, and tactical use of skills is pretty important for warriors. All that said, landing an arc of deliverance or knocking multiple opponents away with an indomitable lunge is pretty satisfying. Warrior probably takes the most practice of the red classes.

Mystic Knights, depending on whether you play them with a sword or a staff, play like highly versatile fighters, though they're less powerful in melee; or like gimped sorcerers with good melee. Mystic Knights are even tankier than fighters, possessing several skills that make their perfect blocks even more punishing for enemies that would dare attack you (or else making their shields even better protection). They also have access to the low and mid-tier damage spells, making them decent offensive casters, and have much better skills for use at range than any other red class except maybe assassin.

Speaking of which, while you didn't mention it: the assassin is the most versatile of the red classes. While it's easy to lump it in with the yellows, on account of its best DPS coming from daggers and bows, when using the sword and/or shield, it's also tankier than a fighter, possessing better shield skills and counterattack skills with i-frames for both sword and daggers. And while its melee and bow skills are generally weaker DPS than what the strider and fighter get access to, it makes up for that by having the best climbing DPS skills (dire gouge and thousand kisses) short of the Magick Archer.

To be honest, you'd probably be best served by shuffling around to all the classes at some point and trying them out—though it'd probably best to give each an honest shake after you've had a chance to master them, as you won't get a full feel for each class without access to their best skills. It doesn't really hurt your build, either, since stats from leveling up are generally only play a small part of what endgame equipment will let you achieve.

post cute pawns.

Oh, I forgot to mention the most significant downside of the Mystic Knight: set up. Whether you're focusing on staff spells (which take time to charge), shield buffs (which don't last long), or its flashiest sword skill, Great Cannon (which you have to stand next to in order to utilize), you'll spend a lot of time as a Mystic Knight setting up for battle, positioning yourself out of harm's way to charge a skill or changing the element on your shield or weapon to strike the enemy's weakness.

That's not cute, that's poorly lit.

THIS is cute.

Wait, wrong picture.

This pawn is qt3.14159 lyfe.

I'm happy to see /ddg/ back.
I was quite surprised when I saw dragon's dogma up for a small update a couple weeks ago on PC. Looks like capcom still cares a bit.

Probably just fixing some minor glitch from the big update they implemented with the PS4 version improvements.

>Japanese input error fix
>When typing in Japanese text while in full screen mode, users were not able to see before they converted to kanji, katakana, etc. This has been fixed.

>Ability Bug Fix - Inflection
>Fixed a bug on the ability, “Inflection” in which it was originally doubling damage instead of halving damage in certain situations. Inflection now appropriately halves damage.

>Quest Bug fix
>A rare bug originally occurred in which the quest "Trappings of Evil" was made unavailable if a user upgraded and equipped specific gear. This fix will now allow players who own the upgraded version of that gear to take on the quest.

These were fixed

Oh, they finally fixed the inflection bug? Nice.

It's not a needle, but I did find a falchion in a haystack.

>find a pawn just sitting on a roof
>watching all the destruction in Gran Soren

So there's no way to get 4 custom pawns, huh. Damn, and I wanted to make my original FF team.

>Ranger pawn tries to melee Living Armor to death
>even without daggers and melee skills

why is she like this

ophis is the best waifu.

Wait, I've always wondered about the Trappings of evil quest. Will I loose the items once I collect all the pieces of armor?

>start an escort quest at 10pm
>get lost, go in some water god's cave, pick up everything that's bolted down
>take my overencumbered ass to the midpoint castle thing, deposit all my stuff
>it's 3AM now
>just found a quarry
>took the quarry through to the shadowfort as of 3:30AM
>finally got this stupid ass knight to where he needs to be
But I did have a lot of fun.
This game's pretty good.

I forgot to go there with an all female party, I incorrectly remembered her only caring about the Arisen's gender. The male fighter in my party one-shot her the instant she aggro'd

I did the same thing user.
I was a female arisen, had 2 female support pawns, and my main male pawn. I wasn't welcome.
I then had to dress my bulky, muscular warrior pawn in Mercedes' armor to freely wander about in the area. It was funny to see.

Why would you want four custom pawns? You can only take three.

Also, you can totally make as many accounts as you want, make your pawns and then level them up however much you like, and then hire them in your main account.

Seems like a lot of work, though.

What inclinations does she have? A Scather primary will often prefer melee to most other forms of combat, even if he sucks at it.

How do you check your pawn's third inclination?

I've see a lot of people suggesting challenger/utilitarian/mitigator for sorcerer pawns so I gave mine 5/4/3 of the respective inclination elixirs but I feel like my third keeps getting replaced with scather but I can't tell

Challenger and Mitigator

That's... okay, that's honestly weird.

Does he do the same thing with daggers equipped?

Easiest way is to sit down at a knowledge chair. The two inclinations your pawn asks your preference about are his second and third inclinations.

Awesome, I'll try the knowledge chair, thanks user

I'm going to bed, /ddg/, don't lose caption related in the meantime.

>GET OVER HERE
>Pulls multiple dudes into hundred kisses
>Feels good

Yeah man, that shit is awesome.

How do i get them not to fucking do that though? Also, I'm level 84 and I still do no damage to this fucker. What do?

>Finally got the game during sale
>learn how moddling works
>Install mods that increases the difficult and generates new spawn points

I am getting my ass kicked, but so far I am enjoying it.

Is there like some mod compilation that changes all the armors to sexy ones? Or I must download and install them separately?

Also it is possible to stay Mage for the rest of the game or I am forced to change classes eventually?

...

oh shit, /ddg/ is STILL alive. based

You have no excuse now.

Although if you ask me, you should make a thicc one instead. Not every game allows you to have thicc lolis.

...

>not playing as an amazon warrior

I'm a scrawny tiny baby and my amazon Veeky Forums is 10x better than yours.

>much of the map still shown as fog
>Deny Salvation
>fuck yeah this quest was fucking awesome
>the game is finally opening up the real good shit
>the final battle
Wut.
Somehow this ended rather abruptly for me.
I guess I check out bitterblack isle

Just got the game. What are the best mods. If this is like Skyrim, thee must be a few that fixes whatever it sucks in this game.

>/ddg/ is alive
lol ok
Reminder that if you want to join the Christmas buyers and start a new game, don't load your old save. Just start a new one and your new pawn will get all the rift bucks your previous pawn got while you weren't playing the game.
Pic related is what I just got after a two-month break with a BBI-level pawn. Went from 22 crystals to 1.2M.

Did I say "alive"? I meant DEAD

The post game content IS where the good shit starts.

The game's not actually over, don't forget to do the everfall

What's a good option for a red short-sleeved shirt? The only one I can find is the Royal Surcoat, but Striders/Rangers can't wear that.

Uh wow this DDO is actually good. The english patch is sufficient and I'm liking the m+kb control.

Is the clan up yet?

www nexusmods com/dragonsdogma/mods/193
For whatever reason this mod doesn't show up in search results anymore, but it has a great selection of mods that I really like. I ended up using the custom version since I didn't want just casual random nudity showing up while playing this with other people.

Most important ones in that pak that help include:
-Clothing Inventory ID, shows with a blue glow any torso/leg pieces that count as clothing instead of armor.
-Improved Weight Capacity, helps with the issues of playing a small/slim character.
-"Male Nude Mod". Despite the name what it just does is remove the chest bandages on the Arisen character when your chest clothing is not equipped. Not even sure why they included it.

Just be careful around any mods that alter stat growth, as this can make your Pawn impossible for other people to download.

You forgot the most important one for PC.
Having FLYYING INTO FREEE as the intro music.

Friend just gifted me dragon's dogma. What am I in for?

Wolves hunt in packs

At least as regards your love life.

A genuinely fun game. At least for me. It have 300+ hours in.
What console do you have it on?

>no pastebin for Dark Arisen
Well shit
