Takeda is in many ways the best faction to stall with. Lots of combat, great generics, plenty of land to take (7 territories in two provinces), and easy access through the Oil Field. As the first gourd to get auto-broken, there is zero rush.

Only downside is they attack a lot. But if you win, it is a positive because it gives you more cups than any other nation.

Huh that's interesting. I never looked at it that way before. I usually stall with mustache boy since once you get the events out of the way almost all the officers become those child units with pathetically low troop counts. They also have completely random stats so I usually manage to get a few decent generics off of them.

I think he means the cup item that boosts affection? I've never heard of getting more cups from Takeda, aside from the normal increase in affection items dropping the more you fight army battles without post-battle events, which would obviously happen more with Takeda due to how often they attack.

Incidentally, stalling on mustache boy is a great way to recruit officers due to how easy it is to force his officer count so low that you can almost guarantee he'll recruit every turn; not to mention that once they do appear they're extremely easy to capture due to the child units being so weak. At least that's how I got the Takeda bonus; I just kept save scumming until Akashi recruited a Takeda general and then I'd capture them.

I'm pretty sure that they're just random generics rather than totally random. For example, I think that they never have any combat stats over 6.

I played through KR and I can say that are going to be some very significant differences, but also a lot of things that carry over.

Shizuka's design is too simplistically simple for me to appreciate, Chenezale's (KR) and Nagi's designs rock though.

Depends on what you mean. In an usual RPG you would choose between your allies to make up a party. In Rance 10 is a bit similar but you select between one of the 10 teams to make a party, and one character of the team to represent it.

The teams are fixed with each character being part of an specific one, you can't divide them as you want.

You also only have one active party at the same time, which is what you control, like most RPGs.
