What are your thoughts on this man and his legacy?
What are your thoughts on this man and his legacy?
Ruined russia and eastern europe
Mostly Marx's fault though
Ruined Russia and Eastern Europe as well as far-left politics worldwide. A right-wing military dictatorship probably would have been less harmful.
Also he in general strikes me as a prick. Him and his retarded goons idolized Robespierre but he would have had their heads off within a year considering the shit they pulled. He sold out his ideals to keep his ass-backwards 'revolution' alive. I understand the idea of compromise now leading to ultimate victory later but look how that worked out in the end.
Because Russia used to be such a wonderful place before the revolution.
And let's say Russia was ruined, putting the blame on an old beardy german fuck for writing some books is absurd.
The State and Revolution is really good. Don't know enough history to be able to have an opinion on his actions.
Did some nasty shit and I don't agree with vanguardism.
Only tankies who think they aren't tankies idolise him.
>Did some nasty shit
like what? I often hear people say this but they almost never specify.
I'm pretty sure he was aware of the murderers of the royal family.
You can argue it's a neccessity all you want, but it was pretty horrible.
He also fully advocated the death penalty, while I'm not against violent self-defense, allowing those in power to legally murder someone isn't a good thing.
One of history's greatest visionaries and heroes. Shame that his legacy was destroyed by opportunists.
In 1917-1924, essentially everyone was in favor of the death penalty
Lenin didn't order the killing of the Romanovs.
But they deserved it in any case.
A genocide.
Nor forgetfulness or forgiveness for the communists
ITT: communists sucking Lenin's cock
Viewing him very dispassionately, its pretty impressive how one man can do so much.
Even if it did end up in ruins
He isn't to blame for all Soviet faults, but he did keep Stalin close and created a system that allowed Stalin to reach absolute power.
And he was a fanatic.
He wrote some great shit.
He was the best part of a failed experiment
ITT: Pinning everything wrong with everyou other russian onto Lenin
He was a hero and having a job has redpilled me on how Lenin was right about everything.
Great man, great revolutionary, great speaker, great visionary, greatest historical figure IMO.
...
tell us
It's full of old people who thought they had jobs for life but got fucked by the capitalist system and now have to support their families on the same minimum wage that just about does the younger people there for beer money. And equally tragically many of those younger people will never be able to advance this station in life.
pretty sad
Putin is God.
He was a genocidal tyrant.
Communism = hunger, tyranny, 100 million people killed
t. Ivan Kulakovich
Nah, he didn't blame him solely on Germany
Actually made marxism substantially more retarded
yep most blood on his hands than any human by far. if ever there was a devil it is he
Why did he have to kill the tsar why
All communist are shit because the ideology itself is very flawed and will always end in defacto fascism, so no, I dont idolize him or any other communist leader who spread their religion by the sword because theres no other way anyone would follow it.
Yeah that's pretty much Lenin
Great theorist shit leader
lmao this is classic tankie doublethink
>stalin didn't kill the kulaks but they deserved it anyway
>Don't know enough history to be able to have an opinion on his actions.
He was kind of a scumbag because he would go into St. Petersburg, get everyone riled up, and then flee away to his mansion in Finland the moment shit got real because he was a coward.
He then formed a secret police force to murder everyone that not only disagreed with him, but that didnt agree with him enough, so the idea that it was Stalin who turned it into a brutal state is a commie LARPer meme. And he also used his military to squash all the little farmer revolts after his shitty redistribution ideas didnt work.
A state cant claim to be its for "the people" when it doesnt respect freedom of speech and/or questioning the government
lol
i am that dude. and so is everyone else on this website.
dethrone god plz
holy shit
why are there hands that feed that we must not bite?
i've been here the whole time dude i hate reddit

Didn't Veeky Forums use to be leftwing back in the days because it used to be cool then? Those people aren't saying it was neutral just because it affiliated more with their own political views?
obama gave everyone on this site brain poison it's finally coming to an end
big boy talk goes on in /r/socialism
It looks like some people here don't have any clue in the slightest what the word genocide actually means.
t. /u/_napoleonbonaparte_
It's true that Russia had yet to be industrialized. However, it is very naive to assume this would not have taken place naturally after the overthrow of the Tsar's feudalist-style regime, which would have happened with or without Lenin.
>colonize
>establish a presence
>memes are the way forward
Why are communists so cringey?

Communists aren't welcome here.

>he says, on an imageboard that litteraly worships a frog
hahahahah!!
Holy shit, fucking commies
he has no legacy
Fuck communist кикec
Veeky Forums was left libertarian. Now we have waves of newfags who think left libertarian is an oxymoron, because libertarianism and freedom are obviously right wing to them, because they've been brainwashed into thinking the left is a monolithic entity that is SJW, big government, and censorship. That's why rightwingers on Veeky Forums don't actually adopt right wing ideas, they're more anti leftist more than anything, especially the things that trigger them. You'll see them making retarded arguments like pointing to a country with a big government and saying they're leftist because of that.
>Veeky Forums used to be smart enough not to talk about politics much
FTFY
Lenin's idea of state capitalism and the dictatorship of the proletariat were valiant attempts at creating a realistic and possible revolution and transition, but the centralization of power on the vanguard over the soviets led to the type of elitism and politicking that led to the failure at trying to achieve socialism within the USSR. While a fascinating and dedicated man himself, his theories were mostly incorrect, and while not being directly responsible for the problems that would plague the USSR, they were the logical conclusion of his ideas.
He should be looked on as an inspiring leader who did the best with what he had, but ended up fucking everything up in the long run.
Basically the USSR didn't end up with a philosopher king?
Communist scum who failed
If your talking about that Occupy Wall Street, no we were actually against it after it was hijacked by leftists. We just want it to crash and burn in the end
again, back to r/Socialism
Kike who ruined the world.
Heads up Veeky Forums. These threads are being made by plebbitors so that they can "colonize" your board and make it marxist. Pic related: it's them discussing this.
Raids praising their retarded ideology will lead to nowhere. Things around here are much more organic.
Made up bullshit won't work.
...
EVIL POS who should've been killed like every (((communist))).
dumb jew whose legacy was tarnished by a superior goy
Your point? Most dont like stormweenies either coz their 8gag incarnate
>which would have happened with or without Lenin
Did already happen, before Lenin stole the revolution for himself
This

Step up your game, senpai.

I, personally, think he was one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, if not of all time.
Too bad Stalin came in, tarnished his and Communism's image, and ruined everything.
his new economic policy was mostly good, wasn't it
I am the Walrus
>While a fascinating and dedicated man himself, his theories were mostly incorrect, and while not being directly responsible for the problems that would plague the USSR, they were the logical conclusion of his ideas.
I agree, but I think Lenin showed enough pragmatism that he would have spotted and avoided the economic dead-end. He honestly died too early to be able to know what kind of ruler he would have been.
Larger than life.
Only person who might warrant being worshiped.
>memes are the way forward
yikes
Lenin has nothing with Romanov killing. You didn't even learn what chaos was going back then, there were several revolutions, and there was no bolsheviks as any significant group in that time.
Lenin is one of the most mythicized figure in recent history, more that Stalin. So much "his" quotes known by peoply are not his but authors' who write books about him
He didn't ruined anything. Russia was already destroyed and what he did is gathered it again, he "built" the country.
He is one the greatest philosopher in history, considering he achieved bringing his ideas to life.
This material should be one day translated to english, for westerns this is pure gold info. Unlikely they gonna get structured info like this enywhere else, otherwise have to work with tons of books and history documents that also need to be translated from Russian (and not only):

They're just as bad as well. Doesn't excuse what /leftypol/ and other communists do though.
My great-great grandparents knew him. Supposedly he was very quiet and shy when in private.
>Goblin
U mad, bro?
Revolution was needed, he wasn't.
Also back stabbed Nestor. Cunt
