This is what Kiyotaka Tamiya's art, who originally designed all the ML characters (including the two new ones), actually looks like before it gets wrung through A1 (see also: Kaori/Tsumugi Ns in TD). I firmly believe that TD would have made a much better impression overall if all the old derpy A1 art on the N cards had been redone to meet at least this level. But, on the other hand, you have to go out of your way to actually see card art in TD, which is a entire separate problem unto itself.

As a side note, I don't think /@/ knows about this, but the reason that all the 765AS art (absolutely ALL of it, even tiny blobs in the background of some cards) has to be redone for TD is because of a contractual fuckup of some kind. Namely, A1 is not involved in TD, and scamco somehow ended up with only the rights to use the art they created for ML characters, but NOT any of the AS characters. I really think they should have used this opportunity to redo at least the Ns for ML characters too, but oh well.
