yeah, that's their mo. Then they'll acknowledge the issue, albeit not outright and will isntead introduce a counter to teh broken or problem meta heroes. This hero will do it's job too well but won't counter any of the heroes it's meant to. At that point it will either be nerfed into oblivion, or nerfed slightly , but not enough to matter, and will become a new meta pick.

Blizzard has a very strange attitude about nerfing, they're obviously careful of flat out nerfing heroes that will lose them a lot of players, so they have to do this stupid rework or "nerf one thing and buff 2 others".
They had no problem with straight up breaking doomfist and hog, but had to completely rework mercy and double buff dva to make up for the dm nerf. I wonder what the common factor is...

did you miss the huge marketing push overwatch got from all media outlets after they revealed near the christmass season that their postergirl was gay? It very much was a marketing push, and it got it's name on every major gaming news outlet for several weeks around the holidays. That's a shitload of copies sold combined with holiday push sales. If you can't see how that'd positively impact sales you're probably not in marketing.

I agree but at the same time a dashing genji is a pain in the ass to hit due to how broken hitboxes are in the game. If he's in front of you you can try to land a headshot and he dies mid dash but if you're on any other angle his hitbox can be anywhere during his dash animation.
