The game turned to shit when Renolock became viable. It was like, renolock, shaman and pirate warrior. All the time before that was fun. Sure there was always some dominant 'cancer' deck but the game didn't feel like total shit to play back then.

For aggro decks Flamestrike/Blizzard is plenty effective. Doubt aggro decks run too much anything with +4 health. If they do, I haven't encountered one.

Forgot to mention. Sauronites and Doomsayer help to survive until late game when you can play the more expensive AoE spells.
