What the fuck just happened? Last thread was at 111 posts.

Should have just let /agdg/ die tbqh.

How can I make my VN fun?

shitposter made the thread and got banned, so the thread got deleted

What a fucking retard.

Second this

I just wanna create a cool mechanic for my vn

Visual scene progress.

Make it an adventure game instead.

I'm glad he's getting banned regularly now. He's been shitposting more than usual the past couple weeks.

...

Wtf..

VERY nice
is there lewd?

Setting up the scene for the first cutscene for the demo. I wasn't going to have it in but the gameplay part of the game will just make a hell of a lot more sense with a little backstory.

Weirdo.

Making a short and simple tutorial level before the game starts. Should be completed in a minute or two and it explains all the controls.

Is the game a generic RPG?

Bro why? My Sega games never included furry ass.

Someone never played Shining Force.

I'm zooming in and out of my solar system map with simple lerps, but if there's a planet or something in the way, it just slams right through it. I don't really want to add collision to the camera, that's going to be a nightmare for the transition logic, so I'm not really sure what to do.

Ideas?

tutorial guide lewds when?

>polished brass plate armour
>palm trees

???

>forced tutorial sequences

dropped

Hope there's an option to skip the tutorial. Nothing more annoying.

Do you think palm trees are a modern invention?

For the user that was asking about how to see if a player is on the left or right side of an object, you can do that simple x coordinate test and be fine. However, if you want to consider what direction the player is facing as well, maybe you should think about storing a normal for how the player is oriented. After that you can just find the dot product and be done with it.

So, how should I advertise my game?

>what are conquistadors?

Naked fetish porn.

Lol sourcefam. Pathetic. Do you get how powerless you are now? I got my special friends to delete your shitposting thread. You have no game so you can't post here. I own you. Fully owned by a winged beast. That's you. That's why they call you reek. I own you. Delicious. :o)

ur so smart.

>polished brass plate armour
>palm trees

Just placeholder leftovers from a previous level. They're not really palm trees anyway, just a bunch of spiked leafs.

Obviously vaporwave invented palm trees.

>new to unity
>follow roll a ball tutorial exactly
>set speed to 100
>debug says I have the rigid body component
>no movement
Is the unity roll a ball tutorial outdated or something? I can't get the ball to move. I think I'm retarded. Here's my code.

thats not wrong though, thats a pretty good way of looking at it regardless of whether you think it's right to be racist or not

Would you agree that Horizon and Uncharted are actually pretty stylized? Like, they have that photorealistic, but stylized look going on, not sure how to explain it. Handpainted textures for foliage e.g., strong saturated colors... I think that style is actually the ideal and the most beautiful of them all. It isn't just a mindless autistic tryharding to achieve the exact look from a photo and it is more artistic. It will probably age better as well.

I have been salty for a long time because I wasn't being able to get the same feeling like my photo references had, but that is just because I didn't let myself add my personal style, I was just going to photoshop and trying to make my scene the same, pixel by pixel. It's not even possible with realtime engines, so I guess it's better to work with them in a way where everyone benefits.

Now I've tried making my grass the same as Horizon's, pretty thicc for a grass and with a handpainted texture. It looks pretty fucking nice in a different way (although I have to repaint it because I never handpainted before and it's a bit shitty).

Rare did this type of stuff before anyone else

Is game dev using HTML5 Canvas + JS worthwhile, lads?

It plays like your normal JRPG, it doesn't have any mini games for combat if that's what you're asking. Will add a lot of customization for the player to tweak in the settings, so you can make it less or more "grind-y" depending on what you like among other things.

But the tutorial guide is literally you, you can't love yourself user. Don't be silly.

Speed up the text about 10 times, so people don't have to wait for it. Also add a speech animation if you're devoted to typewriting.

Unironically thank you, mods.

>there's only one shitposter in the world

that particular shtick is just one dumbass plus maybe one or two other idiots who think it's hilarious
so pretty much like almost every single other /agdg/ board culture meme

Fully owned. You are so paranoid. I made you and I destroyed you.

Have you soy boys ever made something that got more than 1000 users?

Post some 1MA AAA quality 3D games, for inspiration and if you know of any. Even WIPs, I'm just interested what a single person can pull off.

WIP or AAA?
pick one.

what's a good programming language for shitposting? I'm completely new to this, but I have some great ideas for my shitpost

Rate my tutorial dungeon song:

my.mixtape.moe/kygsbm.wav

making anything in java is a good shitpost

Why? It can still be of AAA quality, just not finished yet.

If the game isnt extreamly flushed out and polished, then its not tripple a.
I think your essentially asking for 1ma games, that have high ambition.
When it comes to amature there is a very low chance any wip games will reach aaa status.

Thanks user

>Speed up the text about 10 times
There's a settings slider which you can tweak, ranging from slow text to instant showing the text, so no worries there

>Also add a speech animation if you're devoted to typewriting
I'm thinking about that, but seeing that a good portion of NPCs will also be non humanoids I would need to make some sort of dynamic system to play a custom talking animation on the sprites, and with the limited free time I have, that might quickly turn into scope creep.

How do you work with graphic designer

Who else is drinking and game deving at midnight tomorrow?

Centaur ass doesn't count as furshit

graphic design is NOT Game Dev.

If(anonIQ < 120){

shitposter = nodev;

}else{

shitposter = yesdev;
}

I don't drink

No /agdg/ required reading/guides in the OP?

>required
How do you intend to enforce the requirement?

Come on, you know what I was talking about. Of course it's not a true AAA. I've seen a few, but can't remember their names, will have to find them on YT. I know some dude from Asia was working on a sci-fi FPS of some sort.

gamedev is too broad

The OP is spiritually pure and pristine without shitposter influence. do NOT attempt to modify it or you will be dealt with through chaos ritual and high powered rifles.

Because there's just too much and a lot of the stuff isn't required, just optional based on what you want to do.
Pick an engine in the OP and follow tutorials for it. If you want to make 2D art read the sticky on /ic/, if you want to make 3D art read the sticky on /3/. That's about all there is to it.

I made the ultimate invite-my-ex-girlfriend-or-me gamble and lost

I'll be here devving all day tomorrow

>thinking men are valued in the current century
lol you dumb LITERAL cuck get redpilled faggot

every time something is added to the OP a certain phantom loses his mind so it's best not to

But they are stupid as hell, becouse they are "artists". All i want are good sprites becouse i pay them for it.

The projectiles now have two hitboxes, a small one that collides with terrain and a large one that only collides with actors so now they can still have large hitboxes to make it easy to hit enemies and harder to dodge, but they won't collide with corners and edges of the level geometry as much.
They also knock ragdolls around properly now.

Oh and the spawner can now see you and will spawn robots facing you so they actually see you straight away.

I think the melody needs more work.

graphic design is NOT Game Dev.

>but they are stupid as hell

not as stupid as the guy complaining about artists and not taking the decade or two required to become one himself lol

SOme kinda new gate or something. Hit a switch and it slides open.

I want to be able to close the gate after i open it.

The only games here remotely AAA are Dixie and Bokube

yeah, my hollowed out potato and Vaseline vegan fleshlight tutorial

keep the name on boku

that shit is one man indie as all fuck, that fighter jet thing being made in UE4 is the only agdg game remotely AAA

Are you still upset that everyone thought filling the OP with meme links instead of useful links was retarded? Are you still upset that your shitposting threads kept getting deleted?

How can I get an item from a dictionary with an approximate key value?

How would someone go about making a game similar to They are billions?

Visual Basic experience but i dont think its going to be particularly relevent here.
Should I go about learning C or C++ or could i use an engine like unity?

Learn to google. ffs.
list search algorithms ->
ntu.edu.sg/home/ehchua/programming/cpp/DataStructureAlgorithm.html

But that's completely unrelated to what I'm asking

A dictionary isn't the right data structure for this

The naive approach of just going through every key and checking if it's = input - margin should be good enough unless you're using it on a big collection a billion times per frame

hey can you like, make a fucking level instead of features. I actually want to play your game but you haven't shown that you can design a single string of gameplay

Of course that's going to go bad. Who wants to hang out with someone that gives people ultimatums like that?

Lesson learned for the next time. Keep your chin up cucky and good luck deving this year.

Make the dictionary key be ints, and for your range use a float. 0.0-~0.9 gets converted into 0, so on.

Or use enums, you can set an enum to be a specific value, red = 1, green = 20, blue = 500, and you can probably convert from 25 to green somehow
