Fourth for art and fun. You still have time to draw your planefu for the collage! The only rules are: >it must go from left to right >it must be in black and white >you MUST have fun while drawing. It's the most important part!
Cameron Howard
Battle scale shenanigans. Checking out performance overhead for future optimizations to see what kind of stuff I can throw at you guys.
Christmas break has made things go to a halt, but now I'm back at it with developing CQ mode.
Mason Brooks
Is this true?
Kayden Wright
The A-4 was nimble, transonic, and had an exceptional roll rate, making it fantastic for dissimilar air combat training. It represented the MiG-17 perfectly in excercises.
Jonathan Price
Fuck this city and by extension the whole state.
How you buddies up here handling the cold? I don't got any heat so I'm pretty fucked lol
Gabriel Gutierrez
>Tfw literally cannot draw
Ryder Jackson
Why was the mig more maneuverable at low altitudes?
Parker Ross
As if that's an excuse.
Aiden Stewart
With that attitude, you surely won't. Now tell us what's your planefu and put some effort into it, do you think we were all good at it from day one? The MiGs were more manoeuvrable almost everywhere, but the F-4, being THE triumph of thrust over aerodynamics, had a much better climb rate and could gain and retain much more energy, and was much faster too. A good F-4 pilot could basically dictate how the fight went all day long, as long as he wasn't stupid. Wait for Thunder, though, he knows much more than I do.
Kayden Phillips
*laughs in gulf of mexican*
Eli Davis
Ok anons I'll try to draw A-10-chan using a wireless mouse with Paint
Easton Diaz
I'll also draw it by hand when I get home anons
William Hill
Alright, buddy, do your best! You are allowed to use references and line tools, so it will be easier. Don't be a pillock and draw in two minutes to "get over it", though, take your time! If you have a tablet (iPad, galaxy note, etc.), use sketchbook. It's very easy to use and free. If you ever need help, there's a whole lot of drawfags you can ask. Also, >A-10 patrician.
Kayden Rogers
Alright I finally updated it with the new ones, sorry for the wait. I'll trace over the new photo ones to make them fit in later. I'll probably update the background when we're done.
Good luck
Liking the trails and tracer fire still. Maybe a bit heavy on the bloom still. As usual, keep it up, it's comming along really nicely.
Cameron Flores
Oh also, try to make it relatively big if you do it digitally. The original picture I'm working with as is is about 8500x3500 pixels or so, so please do at least 1000x by something. I can always downscale a bit but upscaling usually makes stuff blurry.
Daniel White
I don't really feel like explaining it in depth right now, so here's a halfassed answer. At lower altitudes, air is thicker. Because it's thicker, your wing generates more lift for a given speed. The F-4 has a larger wing than the MiG-21, but weighs relatively more. So the F-4's wing, per square foot, has more weight on it, so the MiG-21's wing is more efficient at generating lift, which helps it turn better.
As you go higher up, the air gets thinner and it's harder to generate lift, so the MiG-21's advantage decreases. The F-4 has more power, so it isn't hampered to the same degree.
The above only applies to early F-4s and non-slatted navy F-4s. The F-4E was more maneuverable than the MiG-21 at all altitudes and most speeds, but was only capable of ~mach 2.2 while the earlier ones did ~mach 2.4
Grayson Gonzalez
>air is thicker Gave me an idea for a fucking stupid OC
Jonathan Long
What about the MiG-17? I used that in my example.
Robert Myers
The MiG-17 has as much wing area as the MiG-21, but weighs even less. Basically what I said above but to a greater degree. At ~1,000 AGL the MiG-17 could be pulling 17 degrees a second in a turn until it ran out of fuel. A Navy F-4J could not even hope to turn with it.
Elijah Stewart
What's the deadline for the collage?
Lincoln Bell
Alright, thanks Thunder.
Cameron Parker
would it be possible to modify a bomber to drop long range missiles out of it's bays instead of UGB/GPBs and the like?
Christopher Gonzalez
You mean like some sort of... air launched cruise missile?
Benjamin Robinson
Yes. Google B-1R. Then giggle at it.
I mean it’s only an idea, and probably won’t ever happen since that’d be a waste of a perfectly good bomber, but still.
Adam Howard
There isn't one, honestly. Draw, take your time, make it good.
>Want to get into 5 >The demon fairy tale thing sounds cool >That mission where you sink Scinifax was amazing but was the only time I thought so >People never shut the fuck up >Swear to god the AI is straight hacking Is 05 just not for me?
Jaxson Diaz
Never change /aceg/
Zachary Foster
>Lead plane has flaps extended
Jesus Christ sort yourself out.
Sebastian Evans
I love the adorable little baby Aigaions so very much.
AC5 is always matter of whether its merits win out over its flaws or vice-versa, and people are pretty divided on it.
Jacob Morris
If I'm up to Blind Spot and the only mission I enjoyed was sinking Scinifax, should I continue the rest?
Luke Hughes
Without spoiling much? The high points are very high, the low points are infuriatingly low, and your teammates never really stop talking.
There are a few more superweapon fights, I'll tell you that much, but they tried to add variety to the missions with gimmicks and in many cases if you just want to get on with it and play they do a better job detracting from the experience than adding to it.
Sorry for the lack of a concrete answer but people are split on it for a reason. Some people find the faults harder to avoid and others won't mind them as much. But you DO have a pretty good idea of the way the game plays by now, high and low, so you should be able to make that call.
Luke Collins
Lemme fill you in on my impression of the ace combat series: its got an amazing story thats delivered in a terrible manner. Yeah the idea of being the "demons of razgriz" is an amazing idea. But at the same time i cant help but think that as soon as he lands, blaze gets his dick sucked by his squadron mates.
Elijah Garcia
03 and 04 were done pretty well, but those are the only ones I've played
Evan Perry
you really should, the final mission is a special gem
Hudson Collins
The best moment in AC5 is when Chopper kisses the football field in the stadium with his jet
Parker Baker
>/@/ faggotry again shoo, shoo QuizNo
Leo Brooks
5 is a shit game and IMO one of the worst in the series thanks to its garbage delivery.
Gameplay is pretty good though. I'd recommend 4 and Zero as the highlights of the series holistically.
Sebastian Bailey
04 had very subdued, confident, and competent storytelling. Zero was a lot more melodramatic but it all felt like it was a part of its larger-than-life nature. Five was... insufferably overwrought.
I hate to admit it, but at the end of the finale I more or less dropped my controller, threw up my hands, and begrudgingly said "GodDAMMIT, that was actually worth it."
But it's much better if you mute your allies' voices and let the scenery and music speak for itself.
Julian Brooks
Actually, a summation and caveat: If the finale is the summation of everything good about the game (well, plus its exhaustive list of aircraft including some intriguing and obscure gems), the penultimate mission is the summation of everything bad about it.
Unskippable swaths of dialog that drone on and on and on and were a little satisfying the FIRST time you saw them, a stupid level gimmick with a frustrating trip-up at the end, and for all its pomp and bluster they could have done so much more with so much less.
Jaxson Brooks

The Real MVP of AC5
Jason Thompson
Project Wingman-user you did very well. I hope 07 is as incredible as you made PW
Caleb Brown
I found the finale of 5 really boring, maybe because I'd played the Infinity SOLG first and when I realised that there was none of that fancy extra stuff they added it's just shooting missiles at a spinning thing and hoping they hit. And the dogfight before hand is much worse than any dogfight in 0.
Jayden Russell
5 has too many levels where you have to fly in a straight line for 2 minutes while everyone talks before you actually get somewhere. November City, White Bird Part II, The Finale, probably some others I've forgotten.
Camden Nguyen
Reasonable, but I wouldn't hold it against Megalith that it was more a terrain feature than a fightable superweapon. It was sold more on its presentation, and- bar your teammates' yammering- it did a good job of that. Though I definitely agree the dogfight was really underwhelming.
Agreed. The penultimate mission is just the most concentrated version of that trend. All in all the game really does feel like it's slowing you down not out of pacing but purely so it can finish its monologue.
Andrew Cox
Yet some people have already joined in
Nolan Ross
Is 07 confirmed to have multiplayer of any kind? I missed Infinity and only got into the series recently, so I want to experience the comfiness of multiplayer games with buddies here
Angel Hall
It is planned to have 'expansive' multiplayer. Beyond that they haven't given specifics. It's the detail I most want to know about as well.
Anthony Morris
Since it's a "real" game I hope they don't have fuel or anything, and just give you get credits at the end of each match that you can spend on better planes, just like in SP. Or just no leveling stuff and you can fly whatever plane you want.
Kayden Peterson
For posterity I should give you the exact wording. From an interview with Kono in January 2017:
"The multiplayer element is still in development and I definitely want to have a expansive experience. With that said, what I can say is at this point there is going to be a lot of customization and somehow integrate it into the multiplayer experience."
Whatever other details I can find are mostly speculative.
Thomas Parker
Should I be worried about running AC7 if I had to turn down a few settings to keep 60 fps in the latest project wingman demo? Notably clouds and shadows...
Zachary Nguyen
Nah, I think the latest build of PW just wasn't as stable as the last one. Plus hopefully Bamco can have more time making AC7 run well than PW Dev has to make his entire game.
Noah Allen
AC7 is Unreal 4, isn't it? If I recall correctly that downscales pretty well.
Cameron Collins
who wants to bet that the space elevator in AC:7 will be used for a tunnel run mission like megalith, the v2 facility and the SOLG control facility?
Henry Garcia
What happened to the drakengard general?
Oliver White
If you go by the ending that leads to NieR, it probably IS our fault.
Because apparently, in the Japanese version, Angelus is shot down by someone with the callsign 'Scarface' flying a Su-43.
Thomas Roberts
No I mean on Veeky Forums, there used to be a drakengard general
John Harris
There was nothing new to talk about so we died after merging with the sinoalice general
Zachary Sullivan
>multiplayer element is still in development Great, it's gonna be Mighty No. 9 all over again. Continuous delay because of the problem with the multiplayer component.

Is there a flowchart for how to %100 the 03 story?
Joshua Rodriguez
There is a nice looking one, but apparently I don't have it saved for some reason, so have the barebones version instead.
Jaxon Foster
>mfw I'm playing Ace Combat X through an emulator on my PC, with 8x the original rendering resolution, on my HD TV, laying comfortably in the bed, using an XBox 360 controller I believe this is the intended way of enjoying this game.
Aaron Carter
Although PA actually has experience with multiplayer, they developed AC:I after all. I think the biggest reason it could be held back is the optimization for PC.
Grayson Ward
How did you set up your controls for the PSP games to make it so it plays like the PS2 ones?
But did you use the HD texture pack? Keybindings in PPSSPP are extremely versatile, it's not particularly difficult to do outside the obvious lack of a second stick. And even that has a workaround. You can even map the horrible Armored Core controls so that they're 1/1 the PS2 ones if you know what you're doing.
Julian Brooks
The Su-43 is the reward plane, but lore released with Nier-related material says it was an F-15J iirc. There's a weapon called the F15 and it's said to have been named after the ancient weapon that shot down the dragon.

But don't you like flying NOE?
Brandon Jones
Sorry, I guess I don't have the guts for that.
Nathan Murphy
It's not your fault if you don't have a radar altimeter.
Nathaniel Miller
I imagine you only really need that for adverse weather, otherwise you'd fly visual for the most part when doing that.
Charles Reyes
Tell that to that iraqi Mirage driver.
Jaxon Cook
Which one?
Ian Anderson
The one who pursued an EF-111.
Hunter Green
I don't know that story, what happened?
Julian Taylor
Not him but I think he meant the story about an EF-111 pilot who used his wit to make his pursuer crash into the ground, which is awesome considering the latter flew a supposedly more maneuverable plane than that of the former.
Austin Scott
During the Gulf War, an EF-111 was jumped on by a Mirage F1, which managed to slip past the Raven's escorts. Both missiles fired by the Mirage missed, which forced it to close the distance to use the DEFA. It was night, and the unarmed jammer had only one advantage: a TFR system. Diving at high speed, the Raven set the autopilot to level at 30m above terrain with a high-G manoeuvre. The Mirage, having no such system, didn't see the ground until it was too late. And that's how the F-111 got a kill while completely unarmed.
Jaxson Diaz
I thought I would try AC5's Arcade mode since I haven't touched it for a few years. At the end, the AWACS guy says "we have gathered intel on Erusea's new unmanned fighter aircraft"
Over 10 years later, Ace Combat 7 is coming out. Well planned, Kono.
Hunter Price
Is AC7 basically Ace Combat mixed with Battlefield : Bad Company?
Owen Cruz
>so theres hope
Aaron Evans
Post tomcats. What use is hope when our dreams are almost about to come true?
Christian Ward
Well it'd be great to be able to play AC6 on PC too. More so for the people who haven't been able to play it so far.
Dominic Flores
i just hope that ill be able to emulate six before seven comes out
