I don't think I'll ever use this for anything besides one-shots, so what type of damage does the payload deal? Thinking thrust.

For amygdalan arm and boom hammer was planning to go nourishing, what do I need to do for a full row of nourishing and should I go 2 nourishing and 1 heavy or 3 nourishing?

You have no arcane investment. Nourishings won't do shit.
Besides; Amygdala arm has fuck all arcane scaling. It's a pure str weapon
Boom Hammer is best with all blunt gems. The fire damage it has is extremely mediocre and only gets good at 50+ arcane

Anyone else finding BL43 extremely comfy and fun? Got any builds to share? So far I have a skill build and a bloodtinge build.

45/15/50/25 in vit/end/str/skl gets you more dmg, you don't need that much end
Rrt for every weapon, forget arc and fire dmg. Pure phys for everything or blunt for kirk tricked, boomhauer, beast cuttah + 1x heavy abyssal

So go pure physical for every weapon.
Is there any way I can get the boomhammer or amydalan arm to have decent damage? Maybe get a flat arcane/fire secondary? If not, I'm set.

You have no arcane, go full blunt with the Boom Hammer and with the Amy arm use 1 heavy and 2 tempering

All your mentioned weapons scale a bit with skl, so if you don't wanna use hunter tools for utility, don't bother investing
At least get 14 skl so you can use every skl weapon except of Rakuyo (needs 20) + gatling gun and cannon
