You may just have to live with your robot waifu. You might try turning on survival and abandoning her when she's down to force the auto-dismiss. That wasn't an option back when I got the bug.

When you're attacking in VATS, you take drastically reduced damage. Try entering vats as soon as you open the doors and getting a few good shots off.

Yes I already used the console to get out of it. I just never realized how long you're vulnerable for after using a door.

Fun fact, that's because for some people the Creation Club advertisement causes you to crash. If you disconnect your internet while loading the game up, it should work. Then turn your internet back on when you're back in the game.
Though you already uninstalled it and you seem pretty convinced not to play it. But yeah, figured I'd at least point that out.
